𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | The Tacloban City Jail Male Dormitory, under the guidance and supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the leadership of JCINSP BENEDICTO C RAMIREZ JR, City Jail Warden, proudly joined the celebration of the 128th Independence Day at the Tacloban City Hall Grounds.

This special occasion gathered all Tacloban local government officials, law enforcement agencies, uniformed personnel, national government agencies, civic organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

The event served as a meaningful reminder of the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering patriotism of our national heroes. It also fostered unity and solidarity among government institutions and community partners in upholding the values of freedom, democracy, and nation-building.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | JCINSP BENEDICTO C RAMIREZ JR., City Jail Warden of Tacloban City Jail Male Dormitory, was featured in a media interview on DYXV 98.3 MAGIK FM Tacloban hosted by Mr. Lito Bagunas, Reporter

During the interview, JCINSP RAMIREZ discussed several key topics concerning the operations and programs of the jail facility, including:

a. The current status of the jail facility, including population management, security measures, and operational updates.

b. The implementation of rehabilitation and developmental programs for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL), aimed at promoting personal growth, skills development, and successful reintegration into society.

c. The bureau’s intensified campaign against contraband through regular inspections, monitoring activities, and strict enforcement of security protocols to prevent the entry of prohibited items inside the facility.

d. Summer and disease prevention interventions being implemented for PDLs, including regular health monitoring, provision of adequate water supply, improved ventilation, sanitation measures, health education, and prompt medical attention to mitigate the effects of extreme heat and prevent the spread of communicable diseases within the facility.

e. The vital role of jail personnel in maintaining the safety, security, and well-being of PDL through continuous supervision, implementation of bureau policies, enforcement of security protocols, and delivery of essential services and assistance.

f. Visitation policies and procedures to ensure safe, orderly, and secure interactions between PDL and their visitors while maintaining the integrity of jail security operations.

This media engagement served as an avenue to promote transparency, strengthen community relations, and enhance public awareness of the bureau’s programs, services, and commitment to public safety and humane safekeeping of Persons Deprived of Liberty.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | In preparation for the upcoming Sangyaw Festival, one of the major highlights of the 137th Tacloban City Fiesta Celebration, JCINSP BENEDICTO C RAMIREZ JR, City Jail Warden attended the Coordination Meeting together with representatives from various government agencies and stakeholders held on June 8, 2026, at the City Mayor's Office Boardroom, Tacloban City.

The meeting focused on the discussion of security measures, traffic management plans, emergency response protocols, and other operational concerns to ensure the safe, peaceful, and orderly conduct of the festival activities. It also served as a venue for strengthening inter-agency coordination and collaboration among participating offices.

The participation of the City Jail Warden underscores Tacloban City Jail Male Dormitory’s commitment, under the guidance of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of BJMP Region 8, to supporting local government initiatives and contributing to the successful conduct of the Sangyaw Festival as part of the 137th Tacloban City Fiesta Celebration.

June 8, 2026 — The Tacloban City Jail Male Dormitory, under the guidance and supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the leadership of JCINSP BENEDICTO C RAMIREZ JR, DMD, REB, City Jail Warden, conducted its traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Administrative Office, proudly hosted by the Health Section.

As part of the ceremony, JO3 Donnie Rey Corilla, Chief of the Health Section, delivered a reflection on this week’s core value, “Availability,” emphasizing the importance of being ready and willing to respond to the needs of the organization, remaining accessible in the performance of duties, and demonstrating unwavering commitment to public service at all times.

A Rank Inspection was also conducted by SJO4 Arnel G Lazarte, Chief of Security and Control, to ensure the proper wearing of uniforms, neat appearance, and the overall bearing and discipline of personnel.

This program continuously upholds professionalism, ethical leadership, and commitment to service, strengthening the collective dedication of every personnel to serve with honor, respect, and dignity at all times.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | In strengthening partnerships for a safer community, JCINSP BENEDICTO C RAMIREZ JR, City Jail Warden, actively participated in the CPOC 2nd Quarter Meeting held on June 5, 2026, at the City Mayor's Office Boardroom, Tacloban City.

The City Jail Warden proudly presented the Tacloban City Jail Male Dormitory’s 2nd Quarter Accomplishment Report, providing key updates, especially those concerning the PDL and highlighting the major accomplishments of the jail facility.

This engagement strongly underscores the BJMP’s commitment to transparency, collaboration, and continuous support for the city’s peace and order initiatives.

Together with all the partner agencies, the jail unit remains committed to building a safer, more secure, and well-governed Tacloban City.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | In support of the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” selected personnel of the Tacloban City Jail Male Dormitory (TCJMD) actively participated in the Brigada Eskwela activities held at Sta. Elena Elementary School, Tacloban City, Leyte on June 5, 2026.

As part of the activity, TCJMD personnel rendered voluntary services by cleaning the school grounds, rooting out bushes, sweeping the surrounding areas, and repainting school facilities, including walls, railings, chairs, and other learning spaces. These collective efforts aimed to help ensure a clean, safe, and conducive environment for learners and educators in preparation for the opening of classes.

This meaningful initiative highlights the BJMP’s continuing commitment to community partnership, volunteerism, and nation-building under the guidance and supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director, BJMP Regional Office VIII, and the leadership of JCINSP BENEDICTO C RAMIREZ, JR, City Jail Warden.
