𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗗-𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 (𝗠𝗖𝗦𝗧) 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗕𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗕𝗢𝗫𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗙𝗜𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗟𝗞 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗔𝗖𝗟𝗢𝗕𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬

Task Group Tacloban, under the leadership of COL RICO O AMARO INF (GSC) PA, actively participated in the successful conduct of the Send-Off Ceremony for the Modified Community Support Team (MCST) deployed to Barangay 88 and the distribution of 500 Family Food Boxes to fisherfolk from Barangays 88, 89, and 90. The activity was held at the Barangay 88 Covered Court, San Jose, Tacloban City.

The humanitarian assistance was provided to fisherfolk whose fishing activities were temporarily suspended during the conduct of Balikatan Exercise 41-2026. While the interruption lasted only one day, it affected their daily source of income. The distribution of food assistance aimed to help address the immediate needs of affected families and lessen the impact of the temporary disruption to their livelihood.

The MCST Send-Off Ceremony and food distribution underscore the government's unwavering commitment to community development, interagency cooperation, and responsive public service. Through the collective efforts of various stakeholders, support continues to reach communities in need, ensuring that no sector is left behind during times of challenge.

The activity was attended by representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA), Philippine National Police (PNP), Barangay 88 officials, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and the Angels in Red Vest of DSWD Field Office VIII.

IN PHOTOS // Bayanihan in Action: Promoting Community Welfare Through a Joint Clean-Up Drive and Feeding Program.

The Task Group Tacloban, under the leadership of COL RICO O AMARO INF (GSC) PA, Commander, and represented by 1LT MARVIN Y ABARCA (INF) PA, CMO Officer, participated in a Joint Clean-Up Drive and Feeding Program at Brgy. 106, Sto. Niño, Tacloban City, Leyte, on May 31, 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by UNIDOS Eastern Visayas, headed by Jason Rafales, in coordination with NICA 8 and in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard Station Eastern Leyte, Tacloban City Police Office, Uswag Sinirangan Bisayas Inc., Barangay Officials of Brgy. 106, Sto. Niño, and community volunteers.

Through this collaborative effort, participants promoted environmental stewardship, strengthened community partnerships, and supported the well-being of residents. The feeding program provided nutritious meals and simple treats to children and community members, bringing joy while highlighting unity, compassion, and service in action.

The activity showcased the spirit of bayanihan, demonstrating how collaboration and shared responsibility can create positive and lasting impacts within the community.

LOOK: “Dugo Mo, Paglaum Ko” – Bloodletting Activity

In celebration of Labor Day, Task Group Tacloban participated in a bloodletting activity alongside various agencies in support of the theme “Dugo Mo, Paglaum Ko,” highlighting the vital role of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. The activity was conducted on May 1, 2026, at Robinsons North Tacloban, Abucay, Tacloban City.

The initiative was spearheaded by Santiago L. Chua Commemorative Lodge No. 336 and East Visayas DeMolay Alumni Chapter No. 16, in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross – Tacloban Chapter. It aimed to strengthen the local blood supply while fostering inter-agency cooperation and encouraging community participation in life-saving efforts.

Through this meaningful activity, participating agencies and volunteers demonstrated their unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, compassion, and unity in promoting the health and well-being of the community.
