As digital technologies continue to become part of everyday life, individuals, organizations, and government institutions are increasingly exposed to threats such as phishing, online scams, data breaches, account compromise, and other cyber incidents. These challenges highlight the need to strengthen cybersecurity awareness, capabilities, and preparedness across different sectors.
In response to the growing need for a safer and more resilient digital environment, the national government continues to strengthen cybersecurity efforts and promote the protection of digital systems, information, and services. This direction recognizes that building a secure Philippine cyberspace requires not only technology, but also people with the knowledge and skills to protect and respond to emerging cyber threats.
Through the ICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) continues to translate this direction into action by providing learning opportunities, cybersecurity training, and capacity-building initiatives that help develop a more capable digital workforce.
Through CYBER TANAW, participants were given the opportunity to gain insights into the evolving cybersecurity landscape and better understand the importance of developing cybersecurity competencies in the region. The initiative contributes to building individuals and organizations that are more informed, prepared, and capable of responding to the challenges of the digital age.
The session also supports the HABI: Salig sa Gawa, Tibay sa Banta campaign for Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2026, emphasizing that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility and that resilience is strengthened when people, institutions, technology, and partnerships work together.
๐ From seeing the threats to understanding the risks. From awareness to skills. From learning to action.
Through initiatives like CYBER TANAW, cybersecurity becomes more than a technical concernโit becomes a shared effort to create safer digital spaces and empower communities to become more resilient in the face of cyber threats.
The DICT Region VIII, through the ILCDB, thanks all participants, partners, and stakeholders who continue to support efforts in strengthening regional cybersecurity awareness, skills, and capabilities.
