Our heartfelt gratitude to PMSg Arjel Borja for sharing valuable insights during the Anti-Drug Abuse Program, reminding everyone of the importance of making responsible choices and working together to maintain a drug-free barangay.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to PMSg Jinkee Beduya for her enlightening discussion on the Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) Program, promoting awareness, protection, and respect for the rights of women and children.

STOP THE RAILINGS. HEAR THE PEOPLE.

Barangay 40 respectfully calls on the City Government to suspend the construction of sidewalk railings within our community pending proper consultation, legal review, and evaluation of better alternatives.

Development should be guided by public participation, accessibility, and the genuine needs of the people.

Overall Outcome

The barangay formally objected to the installation of sidewalk railings because of concerns regarding:

* Emergency access
* Fire safety
* Public safety
* Traffic flow
* Business operations

After review, the City Engineer’s Office concluded that the project should continue because it is part of the city’s compliance with national road-clearing and pedestrian-safety directives. The City Administrator then officially transmitted this response back to Barangay 40.

Current Position of the Parties

Barangay 40

* Opposes the project.
* Believes railings may create safety and business-access problems.

City Government / City Engineer’s Office

* Supports the project.
* Believes railings will improve pedestrian safety and help enforce road-clearing regulations.
* Intends to proceed with implementation while providing design accommodations for access and loading activities.

In short, the city acknowledged the barangay’s objections but ultimately decided to move forward with the sidewalk railing project.

1. Siguraduhing maayos ang mga kable at iwasan ang overloading sa saksakan.
2. Huwag iwanang bukas ang kalan o anumang gamit na may apoy.
3. Ilayo ang mga bata sa posporo, lighter, at mga bagay na madaling magliyab.
4. Magkaroon ng fire extinguisher at alamin kung paano ito gamitin.
5. Patayin ang mga de-kuryenteng kagamitan kapag hindi ginagamit.
6. Huwag manigarilyo sa loob ng bahay lalo na kung may madaling masunog na materyales.
7. Panatilihing malinis ang paligid at alisin ang mga kalat na pwedeng pagmulan ng sunog.
8. Maghanda ng emergency exit plan at ipaalam ito sa buong pamilya.
9. Mag-ingat sa paggamit ng kandila, lalo na kung brownout.
10. Agad tumawag sa bumbero kapag may sunog at huwag mag-panic.
