🚫 Disqualification / Ineligibility
Entries may be disqualified if:
• Any step is missing (not following the page, no public share, etc.)
• Multiple entries are submitted (only the first valid entry will be considered)

• The participant is already a winner from a previous October trivia week
• DTI employees and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, and siblings) are not eligible to participate to avoid any actual or perceived conflict of interest and to ensure impartiality in the selection of winners.

Through the event, DTI Kalinga provided Business Name Registration, Business Counseling, and SBCorp Loan Assistance, helping aspiring and existing entrepreneurs access the information, guidance, and support they need to start, sustain, and grow their businesses.

A highlight of the event was the Diskwento Caravan, which offered quality and reasonably priced products to consumers, alongside the Mini Trade Fair featuring Kalinga MSMEs, showcasing the creativity, skills, and locally made products of our homegrown entrepreneurs.

Relive the highlights of the 2𝙣𝙙 𝙆𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙖 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨, held on September 8, 2026, at the KSU Teatro, Kalinga State University, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The congress brought together coffee farmers, processors, industry stakeholders, and government partners in a shared mission to strengthen collaboration and advance quality, sustainability, and competitiveness in Kalinga’s coffee industry.

One of the key messages of the congress was the importance of building a shared identity for Kalinga Coffee.

Assistant Secretary Grace F. Baluyan of the Department of Trade and Industry Regional Operations Group/SME Development, one of the resource speakers, emphasized the value of establishing a collective identity for Kalinga Coffee.

“A collective mark is not simply a name. It is not merely a marketing tool. It is a promise—a promise that when consumers see the mark, they can trust what they are buying.”

She noted that successful coffee-producing regions around the world have combined shared standards with a shared identity. In response to the challenge of crafting Kalinga’s coffee identity, ASec. Baluyan presented a proposed two- to three-year roadmap and recommended actions for the Kalinga Coffee Council.

Meanwhile, Enrique G. Dela Cruz, National Coffee Focal Person of the Department of Agriculture’s Coffee Development Office (CDO), who represented Undersecretary for Special Concerns and Official Development Assistance Jerome V. Oliveros, emphasized the critical role of multi-sectoral partnerships in advancing the coffee industry.
He stressed that stronger collaboration among government agencies, private enterprises, development organizations, universities, and farmer groups can help address key industry needs—from improving farm productivity and climate resilience to strengthening processing facilities, expanding market access, and increasing farmers’ incomes.
Dela Cruz likewise encouraged stakeholders to work together in creating opportunities that will make coffee farming a viable and sustainable livelihood for the next generation.

The congress seeks to strengthen coordination among stakeholders and translate shared goals into concrete actions toward a competitive, quality-driven, and sustainable coffee industry in Kalinga.

☕✨ BREWING SKILLS, BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE, AND COFFEE PASSION! ✨☕

DTI Kalinga, with the support and collaboration of the Province of Kalinga and the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, successfully conducted the Advanced Barista and Coffee Shop Management Training on August 25–27, 2026 at Brewed Culture, Dagupan Centro, Tabuk City, Kalinga. The three-day training benefited 16 staff and owners of various cafés and coffee shops, providing them with valuable knowledge and hands-on skills to further improve their coffee preparation, beverage creation, and café management capabilities.

Over the course of three days, participants strengthened their knowledge and practical skills in coffee preparation, espresso extraction, latté art, manual brewing, beverage mixology, and café operations. The training combined lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and hands-on activities to provide participants with practical experience applicable to actual coffee shop operations.

The first day focused on the foundations of barista skills and espresso-based training, covering coffee varieties and processing methods, roast profiles and grind sizes, espresso machine operation and maintenance, espresso extraction, brew ratios, espresso-based recipes, latte art, and grinder calibration.

On the second day, participants explored manual brewing and beverage mixology, including coffee assessment and sensory terminologies, manual brewing equipment, coffee-based and non-coffee beverages, followed by extensive hands-on practicum.

The final day focused on café management and workflow, covering café management roles, KPIs, station and workflow design, inventory and supply management, standard operating procedures, quality assurance, and simulated café setup and workflow planning.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Robyn Carlo De Castro, Ms. Brenda Claver, and Mr. Hanzel Gamo, whose expertise and guidance helped participants gain valuable insights and practical skills for improving coffee service and managing café operations.

Negosyo Center–Tabuk City Brings Kalinga MSMEs and Returning OFW Entrepreneurs to the Forefront of the “Abbuyog ad Kalinga” Reintegration Fair

TABUK CITY, KALINGA — The Negosyo Center–Tabuk City successfully facilitated a mini trade fair featuring products and livelihood ventures of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who have transitioned into entrepreneurship during the “Abbuyog ad Kalinga” National Reintegration Network Fair and World Café of Opportunities held on August 28, 2026, at the Kalinga Sports Center.

The mini trade fair served as an avenue for participating entrepreneurs to showcase their locally produced goods, promote their businesses, and connect with potential customers, partners, and other stakeholders. It also highlighted the potential of entrepreneurship as a sustainable livelihood option for returning OFWs seeking to rebuild their economic lives and establish businesses within their communities.

Through the facilitation of Negosyo Center–Tabuk City, MSMEs and returning OFW-entrepreneurs were given a platform to market their products, expand their visibility, and explore opportunities for business growth. The initiative further demonstrated the important role of the Negosyo Center in linking entrepreneurs with government programs, business development services, and market opportunities.

The “Abbuyog ad Kalinga” activity brought together government agencies, local government units, private companies, and other stakeholders to provide employment, livelihood, skills training, and other forms of assistance to Kalinga residents seeking employment or planning to start, strengthen, or rebuild their livelihoods.

Aside from the mini trade fair, participants accessed various government services through the one-stop-shop, enabling them to transact with agencies and partner institutions including the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), PESO-Kalinga, Social Security System (SSS), Pag-IBIG Fund, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), PESO–Tabuk City, and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines–Kalinga Chapter.

The event likewise provided opportunities for TESDA graduates, technical-vocational institutions, and local entrepreneurs to showcase their skills, products, and livelihood ventures to potential clients, partners, and employers.

The activity was led by DMW-CAR OIC-Regional Director Cheryl L. Daytec-Yañgot, TESDA-Kalinga Acting Provincial Director Clefford E. Pascual, DOLE-Kalinga Provincial Director Avelina Manganip, Atty. Chesed Sofia Munda, representing Kalinga Lone District Representative Caroline B. Agyao, and PESO-Kalinga Manager Ermilinda Wandag, representing Governor James S. Edduba, together with officials and representatives from participating agencies and partner organizations.

The participation of Negosyo Center–Tabuk City in the activity underscores its continuing commitment to supporting local entrepreneurship, strengthening market access for MSMEs, and promoting enterprise development as a viable pathway for the economic reintegration of returning OFWs.

More than simply providing a venue for product display, the mini trade fair created an opportunity for entrepreneurs to turn their products into market opportunities, establish valuable connections, and gain greater exposure for their businesses. It also reinforced the message that returning OFWs can become successful entrepreneurs when provided with the appropriate support, guidance, and opportunities.

Through initiatives such as this, the Negosyo Center–Tabuk City continues to contribute to the development of a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kalinga—one that empowers MSMEs and returning OFWs to build sustainable livelihoods, generate income, and contribute to the growth of their local communities.

DTI Kalinga took an active role in the Enhancing Local Convergence and Aligning Communities (ELCAC) Community Consultation and Serbisyo Caravan held on August 20, 2026, in Brgy. Lanna, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

The initiative enabled the agency to engage directly with community members, identify local economic needs, and promote inclusive and sustainable growth in partnership with other government stakeholders.
