JUNE 21, 2026 | MATAGOAN CYCLING FESTIVAL & 2026 PTA TABUK CITY TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP MEDICAL STANDBY

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), through the 24/7 Matagoan Rescue Team, actively provided medical and emergency response assistance during the conduct of the Matagoan Cycling Festival and the 2026 PTA Tabuk City Taekwondo Championship as part of the 19th Matagoan Festival celebration.

At 5:00 AM, CDRRMO personnel deployed from the Operations Center (OPCEN) and joined forces with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), POSO, Philippine National Police (PNP), and Rural Health Unit II & III to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants throughout the cycling event. The team strategically positioned responders and medical personnel along the race route and key activity areas to provide immediate assistance whenever needed.

During the event, several participants sustained minor injuries and experienced physical exhaustion. All casualties were promptly attended to by the medical responders and were given immediate first aid and appropriate care. No major casualties or serious incidents were recorded, contributing to the overall success and safe conduct of the activity.

At 11:00 AM, another team from the CDRRMO 24/7 Matagoan Rescue Team was deployed to the People's Gymnasium to provide medical standby services during the PTA Taekwondo Championship. The team remained on alert throughout the competition to ensure the safety of athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators.

June 20, 2026 | CDRRMO and Partner Agencies Provide Medical Assistance During the MATAGOAN MARATHON 2026.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), through the 24/7 Matagoan Rescue Team and partner agencies, successfully ensured the safety and well-being of participants by providing comprehensive medical assistance and emergency response coverage during the Matagoan Marathon 2026, one of the highlight events of the 19th Founding Anniversary Celebration of Tabuk City.

At 1:00 AM, CDRRMO responders departed from the Operations Center (OPCEN) and were strategically deployed along the marathon route from Callagdao Checkpoint to The Ranch and Milagrosa Farm in Brgy. Bulo. In close coordination with the City Health Office (CHO), Rural Health Units (RHUs), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Red Cross, Philippine National Police (PNP), Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), and Barangay Officials of Tabuk City, responders were positioned at designated areas to ensure the availability of immediate medical assistance and emergency response services whenever needed. The Kalinga Provincial Hospital also served as the designated receiving hospital throughout the event.

Volunteer sweepers were likewise deployed along the race route to accompany runners, monitor their condition, and promptly coordinate with medical teams in case assistance was required, ensuring that all participants were continuously monitored from start to finish.

Organized by the City Government of Tabuk, the Matagoan Marathon 2026 attracted runners from various provinces, cities, and running clubs across Northern Luzon. The event featured race categories of 42KM (2:00 AM gun start), 21KM (3:00 AM), 16KM (4:00 AM), 10KM (4:30 AM), and 5KM (5:00 AM), providing opportunities for runners of different ages and fitness levels to participate and showcase their endurance.

Throughout the activity, medical responders remained on full alert and ready to provide immediate assistance. Several participants experienced minor concerns such as fatigue, muscle cramps, and exhaustion; however, these were promptly attended to by the deployed medical teams. No major casualties or serious incidents were recorded during the entire conduct of the marathon.

The CDRRMO extends its heartfelt gratitude to all partner agencies, volunteers, and support personnel whose dedication, teamwork, and commitment contributed to the safe and successful conduct of the event. Special appreciation is also extended to Hon. Mayor Darwin C. THE TROPICAL STORM SLIGHTLY INTENSIFIES WHILE MOVING OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA EAST OF SOUTHEASTERN LUZON

Location of Center (10:00 PM):
The center of the Tropical Storm was estimated based on all available data at 1,590 km East of Southeastern Luzon (OUTSIDE PAR) (13.7ยฐN, 137.7ยฐE).

Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 105 km/h, and central pressure of 996 hPa.

Present Movement:
Westward at 20 km/h

Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 350 km from the center

GENERAL OUTLOOK FOR THE FORECAST PERIOD
โ€ข The tropical storm is forecast to move generally west northwestward and is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tonight or tomorrow (21 June) morning. Once inside the PAR, the tropical cyclone will be given the domestic name FRANCISCO. A landfall scenario is less likely at this time.
โ€ข This tropical cyclone will continue to intensify and may reach typhoon category by tomorrow.
โ€ข Due to its possible close proximity to land on Tuesday (23 June) and Wednesday (24 June) and the possible changes in the track forecast in the succeeding bulletins, the hoisting of Wind Signal No. 1 over the northern and eastern portions of Northern Luzon is not ruled out.
โ€ข This tropical storm will begin affecting the weather conditions of Extreme Northern Luzon beginning on Tuesday. Furthermore, moderate to rough sea due to the tropical storm will be experienced over the northern and eastern coastal waters of Northern Luzon on Tuesday.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to continue monitoring for updates related to this tropical cyclone.

Unless there is an intermediate issuance, the next tropical cyclone advisory will be issued at 11:00 PM today.

CDRRMC CONVENES FOR 2ND QUARTER MEETING

Members of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRM) Council convened on June 17 for the 2nd Quarter Council Meeting presided by SP member Abraham Licaycay.

The council discussed measures to mitigate the impact of the Super El Nino phenomenon particularly on the agricultural sector. The Office for the City Agricutural Services (OfCAS) presented short to long-term response with short-term actions focusing on early warning, water allocation, farmer support, and market stabilization

The council moved to create a citywide contingency plan to protect local agriculture, manage water supplies, and ensure that Tabuk City remains fully prepared to face severe dry spells.

The council also discussed the implementation Public Service Continuity Plan for all sector ensuring that essential government activities remain uninterrupted during emergencies.

Moreover, the members evaluated local road safety, addressing the rise in road crash incidents and discussed targeted interventions to prevent resulting injuries and death. The City Health Services Office reported a very high involvement of motorcycles in Road Crash Incidents at 90% in 2025 and 86 % in 2026.

Also reviewed were recent accomplishments and updates from CDRRMO, CVET, CPDO, BFP, AFP, KAELCO, PNP and CSWDO.// By Miriam Dongdongan

JUNE 18, 2026 | SPES CLOSING CEREMONY

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), headed by Mr. Raul A. Albert, CDRRM Officer, together with the office staff, conducted a Closing Ceremony at the Operations Center (OpCen), CDRRM Office, for the SPES beneficiaries who successfully completed their 20-day work engagement.

During the program, the students were recognized for their dedication, commitment, and hard work throughout their deployment. The SPES beneficiaries also shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude for the valuable knowledge and skills they gained during their stay at the office.

The CDRRMO extends its sincere appreciation to City Mayor Hon. Darwin C. Estraรฑero and the City Government of Tabuk for their unwavering support of programs that empower and develop the youth.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), through the Task Force and the 24/7 Matagoan Rescue Team, conducted the installation of T-post tarpaulins at strategic locations in Tabuk City, including in front of Davidson Hotel, Brgy. Bulanao; in front of Shell Gasoline Station, Dagupan Centro; and in front of the BFP Office, Dagupan Centro, in preparation for the upcoming 19th City Founding Anniversary and Matagoan Festival.

This activity aims to enhance public awareness and encourage residents and visitors to participate in the various festival activities.

The CDRRMO extends its sincere appreciation to Hon. Mayor Darwin C. Estraรฑero for his continued support in promoting programs and activities that foster community involvement and celebrate the unity, culture, and progress of Tabuk City.
