A HANDS-ON AND INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP
Punong Barangay Barrion is widely recognized for her hands-on leadership style, actively participating in programs and
initiatives rather than merely overseeing them.
She works closely with barangay committees, volunteers, and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)/ Luntal Youth Council, ensuring that every program is implemented effectively and
inclusively. Her strong engagement with the youth sector has resulted in meaningful and impactful initiatives. Through collaboration with the SK/ Luntal Youth Council, the barangay successfully organized community-driven activities such as a parol-making contest, where Barangay Luntal proudly earned the Grand Winner award, a reflection of the unity, creativity, and teamwork fostered under her leadership.
One of the flagship programs under her leadership is the implementation of the HAPAG Program (Halinaโt Magtanim ng
Prutas at Gulay), in accordance with DILG and DA Memorandum Circular No. 2023-001. The program aims to strengthen food security by encouraging households and communities to engage in backyard and community gardening. Under her leadership, Barangay
Luntal successfully established and sustained a community garden, supported by organized management teams. The program was further enhanced by integrating modern agricultural techniques, including knowledge gained from international practices.
This initiative:
โข Improved access to fresh, nutritious, and affordable food
โข Empowered local farmers with innovative farming methods
โข Promoted sustainability and self-sufficiency within the barangay. As a result of its effective implementation, Barangay Luntal
was recognized as one of the โTop Barangay Performers in the Province of Batangasโ for the HAPAG Program, a testament to the
barangayโs excellence and commitment to food security.
