Due to the dry and windy conditions experienced in our city yesterday, a total of six (6) grassfires and one (1) garbage fire were reported in the following areas:

1. P7-B, IOM, Brgy. Cagniog
2. Sitio Cabalawan, Brgy. Rizal
3. P6, Brgy. Mat-i
4. Springville, Brgy. Luna
5. Pacemco, Brgy. Quezon
6. Toril P7, Brgy. Luna
7. P7-B, IOM, Brgy. Cagniog

🔥 A single spark can ignite dry grass and quickly spread to homes and properties.

We urge everyone to remain vigilant and practice the following fire safety measures:

🌿 3. CLEAR OVERGROWN GRASS AROUND YOUR PERIMETER

🌫️ HAZE ALERT | SURIGAO CITY

CDRRMO advises everyone to remain cautious due to observed haze in some areas, due to transboundary smoke from forest fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, which is being carried into the country by the prevailing southwest monsoon.

😷 Limit outdoor activities, wear a mask when needed, and stay updated with official advisories.

𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗔𝗢 𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗦 "𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗡 𝗘𝗟 𝗡𝗜Ñ𝗢" 𝗪𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗘
As we continue to address the effects of El Niño and water supply challenges, the City Government of Surigao is launching the OPLAN EL NIÑO Water Rationing Hotline for areas experiencing NO WATER PRESSURE to help ensure that available water reaches affected households.
The joint response initiative connects key government offices and private sector partners to bring clean water directly to affected areas. Participating agencies include the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), alongside private sector partners Pacific Nickel Philippines Inc. and Greenstone Resources Corporation.
💧 The water rationing schedule will posted the soonest. Plan your household water use accordingly.
