The Leadership Enhancement and Policy Development Trainings for Barangay IPMRs was successfully conducted on May 26–27, 2026 at Pietros Square Corporation, Imadejas Subdivision, Butuan City.

Representing Surigao del Norte was Mr. Charmae Yubos, Barangay IPMR of Barangay Cagdianao, Claver, Surigao del Norte, accompanied and assisted by the IPMR Focal Person, Honey Macuray, Tribal Affairs Assistant II of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Surigao del Norte Provincial Office.

The activity aimed to strengthen the leadership capabilities, policy awareness, and participatory governance of Barangay Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) in promoting and protecting the rights and welfare of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs). Participants also gained valuable learnings on Resolution and Ordinance making in local legislation, enhancing their capacity to effectively represent their respective communities.
