When disasters strike, every act of kindness becomes a source of hope. As communities in Sarangani Province, General Santos City, South Cotabato, and neighboring areas continue to recover from the recent Magnitude 7.8 earthquake, the Schools Division of South Cotabato, through the spirit of bayanihan and solidarity, invites all DepEd personnel, stakeholders, partners, alumni, parents, and community members to support the PROJECT BULIGANAY Donation Drive for affected schools, learners, and teaching and non-teaching personnel.

But it's more than just a word, it is a ๐’”๐’•๐’‚๐’•๐’†๐’Ž๐’†๐’๐’•โ€”๐’”๐’๐’Ž๐’†๐’•๐’‰๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’•๐’‰๐’‚๐’• ๐’˜๐’‚๐’” ๐’‡๐’๐’–๐’ˆ๐’‰๐’• ๐’‡๐’๐’“โ€”๐’‚ ๐’„๐’†๐’๐’†๐’ƒ๐’“๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’. And every year, on the same day, the flagpole begins to carry more than a piece of fabric, but our symbol of freedom, and all the weight of those who fought for the very freedom we celebrate.

Today marks the 128๐™ฉ๐™ ๐™ฎ๐™š๐™–๐™ง ๐™ค๐™› ๐™‹๐™๐™ž๐™ก๐™ž๐™ฅ๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™š ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™™๐™š๐™ฅ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™™๐™š๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š. May we be reminded of all that was sacrificed in the name of independence. All the blood that was spilled, the tears that flowed behind shut curtains, the sweat that covered the stench of labor, and the lives that were lost and scarred in search of freedom.

The Philippine Independence Day serves as a reminder that our country is worth fighting for. Beyond the corruption in our government is a tropical paradise waiting to be rediscovered. Behind the millions that were stolen beneath our feet is a country rich in culture. Our ancestors gave us a country that is its own countryโ€”The Republic of the Philippines. And yet, muffled by the banners of different colors is a cry for change.

Although independence was achieved, ๐ฐ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ข๐ญ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐š๐ญ ๐ญ๐š๐ค๐ž ๐ข๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐?

Is a free flying bird that is hunted by the very people meant to protect it really free?

After a whole week of preparations, students have finally arrived this Monday morning.
