The 7th Infantry (TAPAT) Battalion successfully conducted a comprehensive lecture and practical exercises for Reserve Officersโ Training Corps (ROTC) participants focusing on Land Navigation, Map Reading, First Aid, and the Proper Assembly and Disassembly of Military Equipment in line with its continuing commitment to youth development, leadership enhancement, and community preparedness at MSU Annex, Parang, Maguindanao last 01, 02 and 03 May 2026.
The activity aimed to strengthen the essential competencies of ROTC cadets by equipping them with fundamental military knowledge and practical skills necessary in emergency preparedness, disaster response, and operational readiness. The training provided participants with hands-on learning experiences designed to enhance their confidence, discipline, situational awareness and ability to respond effectively during crisis situations and field operations.
The Land Navigation and Map Reading lectures emphasized the importance of terrain association, route planning, map interpretation, and compass utilization, enabling participants to develop accurate navigation skills essential in military and rescue operations. Meanwhile, the First Aid training focused on life-saving procedures, immediate casualty care, and basic emergency response techniques to prepare participants in handling medical emergencies.
Additionally, the practical instruction on the Assembly and Disassembly of Military Equipment enhanced the participantsโ familiarity with standard military gear, promoting safety, responsibility, and operational competence in handling equipment.
The activity further highlighted the Philippine Armyโs commitment to empowering the youth through military-oriented education and values formation while fostering patriotism, leadership, teamwork, and civic responsibility among ROTC participants.
The 7th Infantry (TAPAT) Battalion continues to strengthen its partnership with academic institutions and the youth sector in developing capable, disciplined, and service-oriented future leaders who are prepared to contribute to nation-building, peace, and security.
