LOOK | The Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) actively participated in the formulation of the Bangsamoro Development Investment Roadmap (BDIR) 2026โ2035, conducted by the Bureau of Investment (BOI), Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT). Held on February 11โ12, 2026 at Arya Hall, Mall of Alnor, Cotabato City, the activity served as a vital component of the regionโs ongoing efforts to establish a long-term investment strategy and strengthen economic planning across the BARMM. Representatives from various BARMM ministries, provincial and local government units (LGUs), and development partners convened to discuss investment priorities, potential growth corridors, and enabling policy reforms intended to shape the regional economic landscape over the next decade. The sessions provided a platform for presenting the BDIR framework, validating priority sectors, and identifying the infrastructure and policy requirements needed to bolster regional competitiveness.
During the event, PPDO representatives engaged actively in discussions and workshop sessions designed to align local priorities with the regional agenda. Participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of the BDIR formulation process, including data requirements, investment mapping, and strategic synchronization. The workshops specifically focused on identifying emerging economic opportunities, addressing infrastructure gaps, and overcoming challenges that affect local investment readiness. These shared insights allowed LGUs and ministries to clarify technical concerns and harmonize their strategies, ensuring a coherent and unified planning approach across all provinces.
Throughout the technical sessions, facilitators emphasized the critical role of coordinated planning, reliable data, and a stable regulatory environment in attracting high-value investments and fostering inclusive development. Significant focus was placed on key sectors such as agriculture, halal industry, tourism, logistics, digital economy, and energy. Interactive activities further highlighted the necessity of strong LGU participation and improved investment promotion mechanisms through robust collaboration among BARMM institutions.
In conclusion, the PPDO expressed its firm commitment to applying the knowledge gained during the activity to enhance provincial planning processes. By integrating these investment priorities into local development initiatives, the PPDO aims to reinforce the role of LGUs in shaping a responsive and impactful investment roadmap for the region. As the BDIR 2026โ2035 continues to take shape, strengthened coordination among ministries, LGUs, and stakeholders is expected to contribute significantly to a more competitive, resilient, and inclusive Bangsamoro economy.
