𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐀𝐍 πŠπ”πƒπ€π‘π€π“,Maguindanao del Norte – The 6th Mechanized Infantry (SALAKNIB) Battalion, Armor (PAMBATO) Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Lt. Col. Florencio ZV. Taguba Jr., actively participated in a Clean-Up Drive conducted on March 29, 2026 in Brgy. Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte. The activity highlighted the importance of collective efforts in maintaining environmental cleanliness and promoting community welfare.

The unit, in close coordination with the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT), and local residents, of Pigcalagan under Hon. Jhonny A. Agting, Barangay Chairman, conducted clearing operations along the Cotabato-Davao Road Net within the barangay boundary. The activity included waste collection, and general sanitation efforts aimed at ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the community.

The activity was made possible through the concerted participation of personnel from Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 61st Mechanized Infantry Company, and 62nd Mechanized Infantry Company, under the operational control of 6Mech Bn. Their active involvement significantly contributed to the successful conduct of the activity and strengthened the partnership between the military and the local community.

Barangay officials and residents expressed their appreciation for the unwavering support of the SALAKNIB Troopers. They noted that the activity not only improved the cleanliness of the area but also fostered a strong sense of unity, cooperation, and volunteerism among all stakeholders.

The participation of the 6Mech Bn in the Clean-Up Drive underscores its continued dedication to nation-building and community development. 𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐀𝐍 πŠπ”πƒπ€π‘π€π“, Maguindanao del Norte – The 6th Mechanized Infantry (Salaknib) Battalion, Armor (Pambato) Division, Philippine Army under the leadership of Lt. Col. Florencio ZV. Taguba Jr., Commanding Officer of 6Mech Bn conducted a Civil-Military Operations (CMO) engagement with Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadets at Cotabato State University, Cotabato City on 28 March 2026.

The activity was spearheaded by 2Lt. Katrina Jane B. Luna, Acting CMO Officer, together with MSg Eduardo Baquiran Jr and three (3) personnel. It aimed to enhance awareness, knowledge, and readiness among the youth, particularly future reservists, through informative and relevant discussions.

The activity centered on map reading, a fundamental military skill that goes beyond navigation. Through an interactive lecture and hands-on practical exercises, the cadets enhanced their fundamental skills, an essential competency in both military and civic applications.

Beyond technical training, the activity also aimed to ignite a deeper sense of patriotism among the youth. Cadets were oriented on the realities and significance of the West Philippine Sea issue, empowering them to become informed and responsible citizens. Cadets were encouraged to take part in three (3) key actions:

ALAMIN. IPAGLABAN. SUPORTAHAN.

Through an informative video presentation and the distribution of educational leaflets, cadets were equipped not only with knowledge but also with the responsibility to share awareness within their communities, creating a ripple effect of informed patriotism among the youth.

𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐀𝐍 πŠπ”πƒπ€π‘π€π“, Maguindanao del Norte – On 26 March 2026, the 6th Mechanized Infantry (SALAKNIB) Battalion, Armor (PAMBATO) Division, Philippine Army, conducted the Donning of Ranks for newly promoted personnel and the Pinning of Unit Patches for newly assigned members at the Advance Command Post, Brgy. Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

The ceremony was presided over by Lt. Col. Florencio ZV. Taguba Jr., Commanding Officer of the unit. During the ceremony, 1Lt. Jaymar R. Regencia, Company Commander of the 62nd Mechanized Infantry (SANKAGAN) Company, was promoted to the rank of Captain, while 2Lt. Abner JR M. Junsay, Executive Officer of the 61st Mechanized Infantry (SARAGANG) Company, was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant.

In addition, the battalion extends its warmest congratulations to 2Lt. Raina Andrea B. Madrid and 2Lt. Jodemar M. Cabulisan on their promotion to First Lieutenant, recognizing their continued dedication and valuable contributions to the service. Likewise, a total of four (4) officers and seventeen (17) enlisted personnel were promoted to higher ranks, marking a significant milestone in their military careers and recognizing their dedication, competence, and commitment to service.

Simultaneously, the Pinning of Unit Patches was conducted for two (2) officers, 2Lt. Katrina Jane B. Luna and 2Lt. John Christian C. Vispo, and six (6) enlisted personnel who were formally welcomed as newly assigned members of the battalion. This tradition symbolizes their official integration into the SALAKNIB family and strengthens the spirit of unity, pride, and shared responsibility within the unit.

In his remarks, Lt. Col. Taguba warmly welcomed the newly assigned personnel and challenged both the promoted and incoming members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and excellence in the performance of their duties. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning, teamwork, and commitment to achieving the unit’s mission.

This year’s observance highlights the vital role of women in nation-building and recognizes their invaluable contributions in the Armed Forces, government service, and communities. The ceremony underscored the Battalion’s strong support for gender equality, empowerment, and the continued advancement of women in all sectors of society.

The solemn activity served as a tribute to the strength, courage, and dedication of women, especially those in uniform, who stand alongside their fellow soldiers in the pursuit of peace, security, and development. Taguba Jr., Commanding Officer of 6Mech Bn conducted a Pinning of Ranks Ceremony for its newly promoted officers on February 25, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, 6Mech Bn, Brgy Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, highlighting the battalion’s recognition of excellence, dedication, and professional growth among its officers.

During the ceremony, two (2) officers were promoted to the next higher rank. 1Lt Anuar Caddaric A. Chua, Company Commander of the 63rd Mechanized Infantry (Sanggalang) Company, was promoted to the rank of Captain, while Cpt Dennie Ralpd DP. Fernandez, Executive Officer of the battalion, was promoted to the rank of Major. The Pinning of Ranks Ceremony remains a meaningful military tradition that honors the accomplishments and commitment of personnel while symbolizing the increased responsibilities and leadership expected of them in their respective roles.

In his message, Lt. Col. Taguba congratulated the newly promoted officers for their perseverance, competence, and unwavering service to the unit and the nation. The ceremony was presided over by Lt. Col. Florencio ZV. Taguba Jr., Commanding Officer of 6Mech Bn, and was attended by the Salaknib troopers.

During the time-honored tradition, 1Lt. Martee C. Uchida, the outgoing Commandant of HHC, formally handed over the HHC Guidon to 1Lt. Jeremie D. Parec, the incoming Commandant. The HHC Guidon symbolizes the authority, responsibility, and leadership entrusted to the Commandant in overseeing the administrative, logistical, and operational support functions of the Headquarters & Headquarters Company. It represents the unity, discipline, and commitment of the personnel serving under its colors.

1Lt. Uchida faithfully served as the Commandant of HHC and significantly contributed to the efficient management and operational readiness of the company. His leadership ensured the continuous support of the battalion’s mission and the welfare of its personnel. Furthermore, he will continue to serve the unit as the Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Officer, where his dedication and competence will remain instrumental to the battalion’s community engagement initiatives.

On the other hand, 1Lt. Parec, the newly installed Commandant, recently completed the Armor Officer Advance Course at The Armor School, Armor Division and previously served as the executive officer of the 7th Cavalry Company (S). His field experience and leadership background have equipped him well to assume the responsibilities of leading the Headquarters & Headquarters Company in sustaining the battalion’s administrative and operational excellence.

In his message, Lt. Col. Taguba expressed his sincere appreciation to 1Lt. Uchida for his outstanding service and invaluable contributions to HHC and the entire 6Mech Bn. He likewise welcomed 1Lt Parec and encouraged him to continue strengthening the programs and systems established by his predecessor for the benefit of the Salaknib Troopers. He emphasized the vital role of strong leadership within the Headquarters Company in ensuring cohesion, efficiency, and mission accomplishment across the battalion.
