ππππππ πππππππ,Maguindanao del Norte β The 6th Mechanized Infantry (SALAKNIB) Battalion, Armor (PAMBATO) Division, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Lt. Col. Florencio ZV. Taguba Jr., actively participated in a Clean-Up Drive conducted on March 29, 2026 in Brgy. Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte. The activity highlighted the importance of collective efforts in maintaining environmental cleanliness and promoting community welfare.
The unit, in close coordination with the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT), and local residents, of Pigcalagan under Hon. Jhonny A. Agting, Barangay Chairman, conducted clearing operations along the Cotabato-Davao Road Net within the barangay boundary. The activity included waste collection, and general sanitation efforts aimed at ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the community.
The activity was made possible through the concerted participation of personnel from Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 61st Mechanized Infantry Company, and 62nd Mechanized Infantry Company, under the operational control of 6Mech Bn. Their active involvement significantly contributed to the successful conduct of the activity and strengthened the partnership between the military and the local community.
Barangay officials and residents expressed their appreciation for the unwavering support of the SALAKNIB Troopers. They noted that the activity not only improved the cleanliness of the area but also fostered a strong sense of unity, cooperation, and volunteerism among all stakeholders.
The participation of the 6Mech Bn in the Clean-Up Drive underscores its continued dedication to nation-building and community development. Through such initiatives, the battalion reaffirms its role not only as defenders of peace but also as active partners in promoting environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and the overall welfare of the Filipino people.
