To our beloved constituents of Sudipen, our dedicated barangay officials, and every family that makes up our community:
The Annual Town Fiesta / Kawayan Festival has always been a symbol of our unity, culture, and pride as Sudipenians. It is a cherished time when we come together to celebrate our heritage, resilience, and shared identity.
However, in light of the present circumstances and in our continuing commitment to responsible governance and the prudent use of public funds, the Local Government Unit of Sudipen has made the difficult decision to defer the major festivities of this yearโs Town Fiesta/Kawayan Festival 2026.
This decision comes amid the ongoing global crisis brought about by the escalating conflict in the Middle East, particularly involving Iran and the United States. This situation has significantly affected the global supply of oil and fuel, resulting in sharp increases in fuel prices and disruptions in supply chains worldwide.
As fuel prices rise globally, transportation, goods, and essential services are likewise affected, placing additional pressure on local economies such as ours. These circumstances require us to be more cautious, strategic, and responsible in the allocation of our limited resources. This decision was not made lightly. We fully understand the joy and excitement that these celebrations bring to our people. Nevertheless, we believe that it is more important at this time to prioritize essential services, social support, and programs that directly address the immediate needs of our community, especially in this time of economic uncertainty.
Despite this, we will continue to observe meaningful and solemn activities that reflect our gratitude and unity as a people. The Thanksgiving Service, Flag Raising Ceremonies, and Mass Wedding will still proceed as part of our town fiesta observance.
Through these, we continue to honor our traditions while remaining mindful of our present responsibilities. We humbly ask for your understanding and full support as we take this necessary step in the interest of the greater good. Now, more than ever, unity, cooperation, and resilience must guide us as one community.
Together, let us remain strong, hopeful, and united as we move forward as one Sudipen.
