The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sorsogon Provincial Office, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU) and in collaboration with the MPDO Magallanes, monitored and witnessed the conduct of the 2nd round of Assistance to Indigent Individuals or Families – Food Assistance – Rice Distribution Project, funded under the Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) FY 2026 on August 25 and September 2, 2026, in the Municipality of Magallanes.

Senior citizens and solo parents benefited from the activity, highlighting the government’s steadfast commitment to delivering efficient, transparent, and accessible services directly to those in need.

The Rice Distribution Project continues to roll out in phased batches across all LGUs in the Province of Sorsogon as part of the national government’s sustained efforts to promote transparency, accountability, food security, and responsive governance while improving the welfare of communities throughout the province.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sorsogon Provincial Operations Office shares the latest update on the implementation of weekly clean-up activities under the Barangay at Kalinisan Day program.

For August 2026, an average of 311 out of 541 monitored barangays conducted and reported their participation in weekly clean-up activities, resulting in a 57.49% compliance rate. This is slightly lower than the 58.96% compliance rate recorded in July 2026.

The Provincial Office commends participating barangays for their continued commitment to environmental cleanliness and encourages all stakeholders to further strengthen the implementation of Barangay at Kalinisan Day across the province.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sorsogon Provincial Operations Office shares the monthly update on the implementation of the Barangay Road Clearing Operations (BaRCO) across the province.

For August 2026, 310 out of 541 barangays in the Province of Sorsogon conducted BaRCO activities, resulting in a 57.30% compliance rate. This is an improvement from the 53.97% compliance rate recorded in July 2026. Meanwhile, 231 barangays did not conduct or report BaRCO activities.

The increase in compliance reflects the continued commitment of barangays to keeping roads and public spaces clear, safe, and accessible. The Provincial Office commends all participating barangays and encourages sustained efforts to further improve compliance and maintain orderly communities.
