With continued support from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2, Cagayan Valley Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) once again demonstrated strong market competitiveness at the Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair (NFF) 2026 held at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City on 8-12 April 2026, generating a total of Php2,920,353.00 in combined cash and booked sales. The strong performance reflects sustained market demand for Region 2 products and the growing capacity of MSMEs to compete in larger national trade platforms.
The five-day trade fair featured 20 participating MSMEs, offering a wide range of food and non-food products that reflect the regionโs distinct identity and local resources. These included traditional delicacies, processed and value-added food products, innovative snacks, locally crafted beverages, fresh agricultural produce, and handcrafted items, which attracted consistent interest from buyers and visitors.
The activity served as a strategic venue for MSMEs to strengthen market presence, establish linkages with institutional buyers and distributors, and explore potential long-term business partnerships, while generating both actual sales and booked orders. This exposure likewise provided valuable feedback on product competitiveness, packaging, and market preferences, which will guide further product development and improvement initiatives.
DTI Region 2 continues to strengthen its support for MSME development through market access facilitation, product development assistance, and capability-building interventions aimed at enhancing competitiveness and expanding business opportunities. Looking ahead, Cagayan Valley MSMEs are set to actively participate in more national and regional trade fairs to further expand their market reach and strengthen the visibility of local products in wider markets. # #
