March is Drowning Prevention Month –paalala na responsibilidad ng lahat ang kaligtasan mula sa pagkalunod.
Masayang mag-bonding sa dagat o swimming pool kasama ang pamilya, ngunit dapat laging unahin ang kaligtasan. Gawin ang 5 B’s upang makaiwas sa pagkalunod:

🟠 Bantay – Bantayan palagi ang mga batang lumalangoy.
🟠 Bida Salbabida – Gumamit ng life vest o tamang flotation device.
🟠 Bawal ang Alak – Huwag uminom ng alak kapag lalangoy.
🟠 Barrier – Takpan ang mga drum at balon. Maglagay ng harang kung malapit sa anumang anyong tubig ang inyong tahanan.
🟠 Bystander Intervention – Unahin ang sariling kaligtasan. Huwag basta tumalon sa tubigβ€”mag-abot ng salbabida o anumang maaaring pangligtas at humingi ng tulong.

The Local Government Unit of Sogod through the leadership of Mayor Hon. Sheffered Lino S. Tan in collaboration with Sogod Rural Health Unit and Birthing Facility conducted Field Health Rounds on February 26, 2026 in Brgy. Kahupian, Sogod, Southern Leyte, as part of the 3-in-1 Celebration of Philippine Heart Month, Oral Health Month, and National Cancer Awareness Month.

More than 200 constituents from six barangaysβ€”Hindangan, Kahupian, Pancho Villa, SF Mabuhay, San Juan, and San Vicenteβ€”benefited from free medical consultations and provision of medications, NCD risk assessment, tooth extraction, oral health kit distribution, cervical cancer screening (VIA), eye examinations, and random blood sugar testing.

Present during the activity were Dr. Isabelita B. Mato, Dr. Johnry Ojas (DTTB), Punong Barangays of the six barangays and representatives, Dr. Catalino Jadoc and Dr. Maruja Jadoc.
