EFFORTS TOWARD SUSTAINABILITY. Partner-beneficiaries of Project LAWA (Local Adaptation to Water Access) at BINHI (Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished) recently participated in an Agro-Aqua Trade Fair featuring a harvest activity in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental.
During the activity, partial harvests of tilapia were conducted in Barangays Cabadiangan, Maricalum, and Nauhang, yielding a total of 118 kilograms, which were sold and displayed along with vegetable products from partner-beneficiary associations. The event highlighted project outputs and ongoing livelihood recovery efforts.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sipalay City expressed appreciation to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI (DSWD FO VI) for the project’s contribution to livelihood restoration. The activity coincided with the anniversary of Tropical Cyclone Odette.
Meanwhile, in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental, partner-beneficiaries also recorded successful harvests with LGU support, including 190 kilograms of tilapia.
The Project LAWA at BINHI aims to improve food security, restore livelihoods, and strengthen community resilience among partner-beneficiaries./jam
