The two (2) days Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (MFARMC) Reorganizing and Orientation Activity was concluded. A big thanks to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources -Provincial Fisheries Office 10 team headed by Mr. Felix Mejos for the initiatives and continued support to our Municipal Fisherfolks and to our ever supportive Municipal Mayor Hon. Dello T. Lood and BM Angeli A. Lood for providing us the comfy venue.

The said activity was attended by the ever active Municipal Agriculturist- Ma’am Merlie A. Dominguez, Mr. Vennie JP P. De Castro- Municipal Planning Development Officer and to Hon. Nelson Mercado the SB Committee Chairperson on Fisheries.

Together we will make the Fisheries Sector in Sinacaban stronger and better. 💪🧡💙🧡💙🫶

𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙣-𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙩 𝙁𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙧𝙨! 🥥🌴

Earlier today, May 12, 2026, we successfully held the "Ceremonial Turn-over of Salt Fertilizers" at the Colupan Alto Covered Court. This initiative aims to boost the productivity of our local coconut industry and provide direct support to our hardworking farmers.

We are honored to have Board Member Angeli A. Lood, who attended the event and delivered an inspiring message on behalf of our Provincial Governor, Hon. Henry S. Oaminal.
A big thank you to the following for making this event possible:

•Hon. Jerson M. Jaso (Brgy. Captain) for the warm welcome.
• Hon. Mayor Dello T. Lood for the meaningful message.
• Merlie A. Dominguez (Municipal Agriculturist) for leading the introduction of participants.
• Ms. Aljane Mary Udal (PCA Mis-Occ. Coconut Development Officer) for providing a comprehensive overview of the Salt Program.
• Hon. Raem A. Naranjo (SB Com. on Agriculture) for the closing remarks.

Most importantly, we thank our selected farmers and beneficiaries. Your dedication is the backbone of our community, and we are committed to continuing programs that ensure a more fruitful harvest for everyone!

In response to the challenges posed by rising fuel prices, the Local Government Unit of Sinacaban successfully conducted the “Distribution of Asenso Sinacaban Rice Farmers Financial Assistance.”

Under the leadership of Hon. Mayor Dello T. Lood, a total of 216 local farmers with active rice plantations in our municipality received cash grants to help alleviate their expenses. This initiative serves as a testament to the LGU's commitment to supporting our agricultural sector during difficult economic times.

Together, we continue to cultivate a more resilient and progressive Sinacaban! 🌾🧡💚❤️

The Local Government Unit of Sinacaban headed by Hon. Mayor Dello T. Lood through the Provincial Government Office headed by Governor Henry S. Oaminal in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), led by Ms. Edlyn Mariquit, successfully conducted an informative orientation for our local coconut farmers today at the Poblacion Covered Court.

This initiative, aimed at boosting our local "Tree of Life" industry, was strengthened by the presence and support of our dedicated leaders:

Today was all about action and alignment for our local fisheries! 🤝

The BFAR Regional Office 10 team joined forces with our LGU for the FischCore Project scoping activity.

The Highlights:

✅ Courtesy Visit: Syncing national goals with the Municipal Mayor’s vision.

✅ Technical Scoping: Field assessments to ensure project sustainability.

✅ Community Voice: Direct consultations and conversations with our Fisherfolk Association beneficiaries.

By strengthening the partnership between BFAR, the LGU, and our local fishing associations, we are securing a more sustainable and productive "blue economy" for all. 🐟✨🧡💙🧡💙

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the Local Government Unit of Sinacaban—in coordination with the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR) Region 10, through its Provincial Fisheries Office (PFO) in Misamis Occidental—successfully conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activity for women fisherfolk. The event specifically engaged the Women’s Small-Scale Fisherfolk Associations of Libertad Bajo and Cagay-anon.

The activity included an outreach program and a Zumba session to promote health, wellness, and active participation, focusing on empowering women in the industry by recognizing their crucial role in the fisheries sector. It featured discussions on the role of women in fisheries and provided a platform for them to share their unique experiences and challenges.
