PNP CLIMBS TO 14TH SPOT IN UAE SWAT CHALLENGE 2026
The Philippine National Police (PNP) stormed the international stage, ranking 14th among 109 elite tactical teams from 48 countries at the UAE SWAT Challenge 2026, held February 7–11.
The PNP’s rise continues a steady climb in global rankings, moving from 45th in 2023, to 34th in 2024, and reaching 25th last year.
Reflecting on this progress, Chief PNP PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. remarked,"Our steady rise in international rankings reflects the dedication, discipline, and professionalism of our men and women in uniform. I am proud of their hard work, and we will continue training and striving to perform even better in the years ahead."
He added, “Ang ating mga police officers ay hindi lamang handa sa kanilang mga tungkulin sa loob ng bansa, kundi kaya rin nilang makipagsabayan sa pinakamahuhusay na SWAT teams sa buong mundo. This is a clear testament to the skills and resilience of our personnel.”
The UAE SWAT Challenge is an annual event that fosters the exchange of tactical techniques and expertise among elite teams from six continents. Over five days, teams competed in five specialized disciplines designed to test their ability to perform under extreme conditions and high-pressure situations.
The PNP’s continuous rise in the global rankings underscores the organization’s commitment to excellence and operational readiness. Chief PNP PGEN Nartatez emphasized, “Every achievement, big or small, strengthens our resolve to serve the Filipino people with professionalism and integrity.”
As the PNP continues to enhance its capabilities both locally and internationally, it remains steadfast in its vision: Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
