Implementation of the KOHA Onstrike Library Solution- Library

As part of its continuous commitment to strengthening academic support and improving access to information resources, the Library Services of Far Eastern University โ Cavite initiated the implementation of a new Integrated Library Management System through KOHA โ Onstrike Library Solutions. This initiative aims to modernize library operations, improve resource accessibility, and provide a more efficient and user-friendly platform for students, faculty, and staff. The transition to the KOHA system is a significant milestone for Library Services, as it enables the academic community to search the library catalog, reserve materials, and access subscribed resources online anytime and anywhere through a 24/7 platform. The system is designed to integrate library services into a centralized digital environment that enhances both information discovery and resource management. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) formalizing the partnership between Far Eastern University โ Cavite and KOHA โ Onstrike Library Solutions was officially signed and notarized on November 27, 2025. The agreement represents a collaborative effort to establish a sustainable and reliable digital library infrastructure that supports the institutionโs educational and research goals.
Prior to its finalization, the agreement underwent careful consultation and review by the FEU Legal Department, ensuring that all provisions aligned with institutional policies and standards. The legal review and documentation process were facilitated with the assistance and guidance of Ms. Magsino, whose support contributed to the smooth completion and approval of the agreement.
The successful preparation and implementation of the KOHA system were made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Library Services Team and the Information Technology Unit. The reliable and dedicated Library Services staff, Ms. Bidar and Ms.
Bautista, provided essential assistance in the organization of library records, system preparation, and coordination of library data necessary for the platformโs development. In addition, the Information Technology team, headed by Mr. Anyayahan, played a crucial role in the technical setup, system configuration, and digital integration required for the operationalization of the KOHA platform. Their expertise ensured that the system is functional, secure, and accessible for institutional use. The combined efforts of the administration, Library Services personnel, IT support, and
the KOHA Onstrike Solutions team demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing innovative library services and digital transformation within the institution. With the upcoming official launch of the system, Library Services anticipates that the KOHA platform will significantly enhance the accessibility, efficiency, and visibility of library resources, further supporting the academic mission of Far Eastern University โ Cavite and fostering a more responsive and modern learning environment for the entire
academic community.
