DAY 15 - CADET ATTACHMENT PROGRAM IMMERSION
FEBRUARY 19, 2025

On February 19, 2025, PNPA cadets participated in another phase of their Station Immersion program in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite. The day began with a visit from the Dean of Academics, PCOL Maria Sheila T. Portento, who offered valuable insights on how the immersion would shape their growth as future police officers. She emphasized the importance of applying academic knowledge to real-world policing situations, stressing that true police effectiveness is not just about academic success but the practical use of knowledge in addressing real-life challenges. The cadets also attended a seminar on Gender and Development Planning, where they learned the importance of gender sensitivity and inclusivity in law enforcement. This lesson reminded them that fairness and justice must be upheld, particularly for marginalized groups, by translating gender equality into everyday police operations.

In the afternoon, the cadets participated in a symposium about the Drug Awareness Campaign and the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) at Holy Family Academy. The session allowed them to engage directly with teachers and students on pressing issues such as drug abuse and insurgency, reinforcing that policing is about more than just enforcing laws—it’s about educating and engaging the community. Later, the cadets observed an Anti-Criminality Checkpoint at Brgy. Gavino Maderan, gaining first-hand experience in law enforcement operations. This activity highlighted the complexities of maintaining public safety, requiring quick decision-making and adaptability. Throughout the day, the cadets worked alongside seasoned officers and engaged with the local community, building teamwork and camaraderie while learning the importance of hands-on experience in shaping their future roles as police officers.

DAY 14 - CADET ATTACHMENT PROGRAM IMMERSION
FEBRUARY 18, 2025

On February 18, 2025, cadets from the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) participated in the second phase of their Station Immersion program in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite. The focus of the day was on the Police Operations Management Information System (POMIS), a critical tool for modern law enforcement. POMIS integrates data from various police departments into one central hub, enhancing communication and coordination across units. By analyzing patterns and trends, the system aids in proactive policing, ensuring that officers' actions are documented and can be reviewed when needed. This technology is revolutionizing the way police work is managed, providing a more efficient approach to operations.

Additionally, cadets explored the Quad Staff concept, which comprises four key components: Intelligence, Investigation, Operations, and Police Community Relations. This integrated approach ensures that resources are maximized, and strategies are implemented cohesively. Understanding how these elements work together is vital for cadets, as it helps them grasp the complexities of modern policing. By gaining this comprehensive knowledge, they are better equipped to contribute to a more effective and coordinated law enforcement effort, preparing them to tackle the challenges that arise in maintaining peace and order within communities.

DAY 13 - CADET ATTACHMENT PROGRAM IMMERSION
FEBRUARY 17, 2025

On Day 13 of Phase 2, we gained valuable practical experience as PNPA cadets by taking on key policing roles during a COMELEC checkpoint and engaging in a school visitation aimed at strengthening community relations in GMA, Cavite. The day began with our morning accounting at the GMA MPS, reinforcing our sense of responsibility and preparedness. This activity, although routine, emphasized the importance of accountability as a core value of law enforcement. We then participated in the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, which reminded us of our commitment to the nation and the importance of respect for national symbols, while highlighting the role of the police force as a unified and disciplined entity in society.

The morning also included a hands-on learning experience as we observed the conduct of a COMELEC checkpoint led by PEMS Edward O. Hernandez at Brgy. Marcelino Memije. This exercise gave us insight into the crucial security measures implemented during election periods, when public safety is especially critical. We observed how officers manage checkpoint logistics, enforce regulations, and interact with the public to ensure safety during politically sensitive times. Later, we visited a local school with the GMA Police Community Affairs Section (PCAS) to seek permission for a symposium on drug prevention. This visit highlighted the importance of collaboration with educational institutions and other community stakeholders in fostering positive relationships and addressing societal issues such as drug abuse. Through these experiences, we gained a deeper understanding of police work, learning how to interact professionally with the public, handle complex situations

DAY 12 - CADET ATTACHMENT PROGRAM IMMERSION
FEBRUARY 16, 2025

On Day 12 of Phase 2, we learned the importance of checkpoints, particularly in preventing the movement of illegal fi****ms, explosives, and other banned items, especially during election season when security is heightened. During this time, COMELEC checkpoints are established to enforce election laws and ensure a safe and fair voting process. These checkpoints are vital in preventing violence and illegal activities by thoroughly checking for fi****ms, explosives, and other contraband.

We were trained on how to properly set up a checkpoint, including the strategic placement of police vehicles for safety and visibility, and how to interact with drivers and passengers respectfully. The officers demonstrated professionalism by adhering to regulations while treating individuals with kindness and fairness. This experience highlighted that police work goes beyond simply enforcing the law; it also involves respecting people's rights. A good police officer must strike the right balance between enforcing the law firmly and showing respect to the citizens they serve.
