🗓 Intensive Vaccination Day: Nobyembre 13, 2026
🗓 Catch-Up Vaccination: Nobyembre 15, 2026

October 2026

This October, we celebrate National Health Education Week, highlighting the importance of health literacy, disease prevention, and promoting healthy practices in our schools and communities.

For today’s topic, let’s talk about maintaining our body clean by being head lice free!

Did you know: Head lice are tiny insects (or parasites) that live in your hair and feed on blood from your scalp.

How can you prevent head lice?
✅ Avoid sharing combs, brushes, hats, clothes, and towels.
✅ Avoid direct hair-to-hair contact during play.
✅ Check your hair regularly for lice and nits (or lice egg). Tell a trusted adult if your scalp feels itchy or uncomfortable.
✅ Ask your school health personnel for other prevention advice, proper management and treatment of head lice.

Remember! Keeping your hair and scalp healthy helps prevent the spread of head lice. Together let’s ?Alis! 🪮🚫🧼

BE A HANDWASHING HERO, MUNTINIANS! 🧼🌏💧

Every October 15, the whole world comes together to celebrate “Global Handwashing Day”, a special reminder that one of the simplest things we can do has the greatest power to protect our health and the health of those we love.

This year, our school proudly joins this worldwide movement with the inspiring theme: "Be a Handwashing Hero!" 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

Why Handwashing Matters?
✅ It keeps us healthy — Proper handwashing removes germs, bacteria and viruses that cause sickness, keeping illnesses away from our classrooms and our homes.

✅ It protects others too — When we wash our hands, we aren’t just caring for ourselves; we are looking out for our classmates, teachers, family, and friends. Clean hands show we care!

✅ It keeps our school safe — Healthy learners are happy learners. Good hygiene means fewer absences and more time learning, playing and growing together.

✅ It builds great habits — What we practice today becomes who we are tomorrow. Handwashing teaches us responsibility, discipline, and kindness toward others.

You Don’t Need a Cape to Be a Hero! Being a hero can be as simple as taking 20 seconds to wash your hands properly — before eating, after using the restroom, after playing, and whenever they look or feel dirty.

Let’s make proper handwashing a daily habit, not just today but every single day. Be the one who inspires your friends and family to do the same because every Batang Muntinian can truly be a Handwashing Hero!

To our dear Batang Muntinians, our dedicated teachers and supportive parents, thank you for making health and hygiene a shared commitment in our school community. Together, let’s keep our hands clean, our bodies strong and our school community healthy and safe!

🧼 , Ka-DepEd! 💦

IN LOVING MEMORY OF
✝️ SIR HENDRICO F. MOMBAY 🕊️

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we remember and honor our former colleague, Sir Hendrico “Rico” F. Mombay, who has passed away.

At the time of his passing, he was serving at Bagong Buhay Elementary School (BBES), continuing the noble work of teaching. Sir Hendrico was our respected Master Teacher I and Grade V Del Pilar class adviser at Munting Ilog Elementary School (MIES) for many years. He will always be remembered for his gentle kindness, endless patiece and unwavering passion that made every classroom he entered a better place.

His dedication to our School Scouting Movement and the Gulayan sa Paaralan Program left a lasting mark on our campus and our hearts, legacies that will continue to grow and inspire for years to come. Though he has journeyed ahead, his stories and the difference he made in the lives of his learners and colleagues will never fade.

Our deepest condolences, heartfelt prayers and strength go out to his beloved family, friends and to his school community at BBES. May we all find comfort in knowing how deeply he was respected and how greatly he will be remembered.

Rest in eternal peace, Sir Hendrico.🕯️🕊️☁️
“Your work here is done, but your legacy lives on.
You will be dearly missed, but never, ever forgotten.”

A Partnership for Health & Hope:
Our New 3-Year MOU Signing 🏫👩‍⚕️🏥

We are glad to share another milestone moment for Munting Ilog Elementary School. A significant step forward in securing the well-being of our learners took place as our school officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Community Pediatrics Society of the Philippines – Southern Tagalog Chapter (CPSP-STC). This agreement covers three consecutive years from 2026 through 2028, declaring a lasting partnership dedicated to advancing the health, development and welfare of our learner and the school community.

✍️The Ceremonial Signing of Memorandum
of Understanding (MOU)

Witnessing and taking part in this meaningful occasion were the official representatives from both organizations:
🏫 From Munting Ilog Elementary School
• Mrs. Teresita C. Amon, former School Principal — who was also present during the induction of CPSP-STC’s new officers last September 20, 2026 before her reassignment to her new post
• Mr. Jhonnel M. Alegro, Officer-in-Charge / School Clinic Teacher
• Mrs. Diana Grace P. Pavon, Faculty President
• Mrs. Alicia D. Regis, Master Teacher I

👩‍⚕️ From the Community Pediatrics Society of the Philippines – Southern Tagalog Chapter
• Melanie Y. Gavino-Solita, MD, newly inducted Chapter President
• Kathleen Mae Toledo-Miranda, MD, Chapter Vice President

This MOU stands as more than just a document, it represents a shared commitment that our learners will have consistent access to quality health guidance and support right here within our school community. We firmly believe that a healthy child is a child ready to learn, grow and thrive.

🤝What This Partnership Brings?
Over the next three years, CPSP-STC will implement a series of valuable activities and programs at our school (details of which you may view in our official posters). These programs are designed not as one-time activities, but as ongoing support to help our learners stay healthy and ready to achieve their full potential.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to CPSP-STC under the leadership of President — Dr. Gavino-Solita and Vice President — Dr. Toledo-Miranda, MD and the rest of the team. Thank you for choosing to share your expertise, time and care with our school community. Your commitment makes a real difference in the lives of our children.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Mrs. Teresita C. Amon for initiating and nurturing this partnership during her tenure. This meaningful collaboration is a wonderful legacy that will continue to benefit our learners in the years ahead.

To our dedicated faculty, parents and learners alike, let us embrace this partnership with enthusiasm. Together let’s make the most of these opportunities because when our children are healthy, their future shines even brighter.⭐️

PORMAL NA PAGLULUNSAD NG
NATIONAL SCHOOL SAFETY WEEK 2026

COMMUNITY KINDNESS IN ACTION: SILANG ULIRAN WOMEN’S CLUB VISITS & DONATES TO MUNTING ILOG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ✨🧹

Today, our school community was blessed by a meaningful visit and generous donation from the Silang Uliran Women’s Club. Led by their dedicated president, Dr. Linda Bayas, together with the officers and members of Silang Uliran Women’s Club and accompanied by our very own former principal Mrs. Teresita C. Amon, the group came to Munting Ilog Elementary School with one beautiful mission, to support our learners and our school community through their kindness and generosity.

The organization generously turned over various cleaning materials that will greatly help our school maintain daily cleanliness, proper sanitation and orderliness throughout our classrooms, hallways and grounds. This donation comes at a perfect time, reinforcing our school's year-round campaign and advocacy for Brigada Eskwela — the DepEd program that calls on every stakeholder to partner together in preparing and maintaining schools as safe, clean and conducive learning spaces for every child. We believe that a clean school is not just about appearance, it is about health, dignity, and respect for every learner who walks through our doors.

The Silang Uliran Women’s Club has long been a beacon of service and leadership in our community uplifting families, empowering women and supporting education initiatives that truly make a difference. Partnerships like this remind us that we are never alone in our mission. Every donor, every volunteer, every well-wisher is a vital part of the educational journey we share with our learners. Together, we create not just a cleaner school, but a stronger community one that teaches our children the value of giving, caring and working hand in hand for the common good.
