Moderate to Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over (Dauis, Panglao, Loon, Calape, SanIsidro, Tubigon and Catigbian) within the next 30 minutes to an hour.

The above conditions are being experienced in (Maribojoc, Cortes, TagbilaranCity, Corella, Sikatuna, Balilihan, Alburquerque, Baclayon, Antequera, Sevilla, Loay, Loboc, Clarin, Inabanga, Sagbayan), (Maasin, Janiuay, Badiangan, Cabatuan, CityOfPassi, SanEnrique), (Dumarao), (SantaCatalina, CityOfTanjay, BaisCity, Pamplona), (Ginatilan, Samboan and Santander) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.

Day 2 | BDRRM Plan Formulation (Batch 2)

The second day of the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) Plan Formulation was successfully conducted and completed smoothly at Green AA Garden Resort.

Day 1 | BDRRM Plan Formulation (Batch 2)

The first day of the two-day Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) Plan Formulation has successfully commenced at Green AA Garden Resort, Abucay Norte, Sikatuna.

Participating barangays for Batch 2 include Cambuac Sur, Can-agong, Libjo, Poblacion 1, and Poblacion 2, coming together to strengthen their capacities in disaster preparedness, mitigation, and response.

This activity is initiated by the Municipal DRRM Office in partnership with the Soil and Water Conservation Foundation, Inc., aimed at developing responsive, inclusive, and risk-informed barangay DRRM plans.

Barangay DRRM Plan Formulation (April 21–22, 2026)

The two-day Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (BDRRM) Plan Formulation was successfully conducted for Barangays Abucay Norte, Abucay Sur, Badiang, Bahaybahay, and Cambuac Norte. This activity strengthened the capacity of our barangays in crafting responsive, inclusive, and risk-informed DRRM plans.

Initiated by the Municipal DRRM Office under the leadership of DRRMO Chief Julius Buhion, in partnership with the Soil and Water Conservation Foundation, Inc., this collaborative effort highlights our shared commitment to building safer, more resilient communities.

El Niño Alert issued ⚠️
DOST-PAGASA has officially raised its ENSO Alert and Warning System to El Niño Alert, following the high likelihood of its development in the coming months and possible persistence into early 2027. This may bring drier-than-usual conditions, including dry spells and droughts in parts of the country.

However, above-normal rainfall may still be experienced over the western sections during the Habagat season.

Building on the outputs from Day 1, the activity further enhances local capacities through deeper discussions, plan finalization, and strategic alignment to ensure effective disaster preparedness and response at the barangay level.

This initiative is conducted in partnership with the Soil and Water Foundation, Inc., whose continued support and expertise drive the success of this undertaking.

Together, we move forward in strengthening safer and more resilient communities.

Fire Olympics 2026 | Strengthening Community Preparedness

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) successfully conducted its annual Fire Olympics, participated in by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) from the 10 barangays of the Municipality of Sikatuna.

The activity highlighted the importance of fire safety, teamwork, and emergency preparedness among the youth, fostering a more resilient community.

The DRRMO was present as a partner in the successful conduct of this activity, working closely with BFP. Our responders were also on standby to ensure safety and immediate assistance when needed.

Congratulations to BFP and all participating SKs for a job well done!

The Municipality of Sikatuna proudly celebrates the achievement of its Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO–Sikatuna), which was honored during the LDRRMCO Regional Assessment.

The municipality earned a Plaque of Recognition in acknowledgment of its strong participation and sustained commitment to advancing local disaster risk reduction and management programs.

The award was officially received in Cebu City by the LDRRMO Julius M. Buhion together with the Honorable Mayor Justiniana Ellorimo during the presentation ceremony.

This distinction highlights the unified efforts of the local government, emergency responders, partner institutions, and the community in fostering preparedness, resilience, and responsive governance.

The Municipality of Sikatuna commends the MDRRMO team for their unwavering dedication to protecting lives, preserving property, and strengthening a culture of disaster awareness and readiness.
