A successful PUBLIC HEARING was done last Monday, October 10, 2022 wt 1:00PM at the Siaton Municipal Gymnasium regarding three proposed ordinances. An Ordinance Imposing Service Fees and User's Fees on the Use of Facilities at the Rural Health Unit of Siaton" by Hon. Christine Diaz assisted by Dr. Lim, An Ordinance Designating Snorkeling/Diving Areas in the Municipality of Siaton and its Fees" by Hon. Christine Diaz and the Ordinance Prohibiting the Presence of Astray Animals in all Public Places within thr Municipality " by Hon. Jundi Diaz.

The said Public Hearing was initiated by the members of our Sangguniang Bayan of Siaton and was duly participated by the Department Heads of our LGU, Barangay Captains and officials, some pertinent NGOs (fishermen association, etc) and concerned Siatanons.

All ordinances were discussed thoroughly and some questions and suggestions from the public were raised and were given emphasis. Majority of the audience agreed to the proposed ordinances.

The legislative body welcomed the Caticugan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (CARBA) of Barangay Caticugan on their Application for Accreditation.

They discussed about the upcoming Public Hearing for three Ordinances. "An Ordinance Designating Snorkeling/Diving Areas in the Municipality of Siaton" by Hon. Christine Diaz, "An Ordinance Imposing Service Fees and User's Fees on the Use of Facilities at the Rural Health Unit of Siaton" by Hon. Christine Diaz assisted by Dr. Lim and the "Ordinance Prohibiting the Presence of Astray Animals in all Public Places within thr Municipality " by Hon. Jundi Diaz on October 10, 1:00 PM at the Municipal Gymnasium.

A discussion was made on the proposed expansion of the Municipal Cemetery in Brgy. 4 with the presence of Municipal Assessor Rogelio Young. Siaton PNP's PMajor Adrian Nulua talked about their request on their vehicles (not working) for better community operation.

Nipa House Kids, Inc. - an orphanage in the Municipality paid their visit to talk about their services and goals as an NGO duly accredited by DSWD and SEC. Their founder, Sara Jane Antoniette Macatunog together with her staff happily shared to the body their small family of 11 fortunate kids all over Negros Oriental. For donations and cash assistance: they are located at McKinley St. Poblacion 2, (in front of Santillan Merchandising), Siaton, Negros Oriental.

REGULAR SESSION | September 19, 2022

The remaining associations applying for accreditation make their way to the Legislative body on Monday. They are from Bantolinao Upland Farmer’s Association (BUFA), Bonbonon Fisherman’s Association (BFA) and BOFAS.

The annual budget for CY 2022 of Barangay Cabangahan and the Senior Citizen Work and Financial Plan for CY 2022 of Barangay Caticugan was approved by the body.

An Ordinance designating snorkeling/diving areas in the municipality of Siaton, its regulation, fees and penalties for violation thereof, And the proposed Ordinance on the prohibition of stray animals in all public places within the Municipality of Siaton which is authored by Hon. Christine Faith Diaz and Hon. Jundi Diaz respectively were on its 2nd Reading. Schedule on the Public Hearing for these ordinances will be on the 10th of October, Monday at Apolinario Inad Quisay Gymnasium at 1PM.

Dr. Marie Corinth Lim and Alma Mae Panglayan of the MHO-RHU stepped in to answer about the Ordinance on imposing service fees and the user’s fees on the use of facilities at the Rural Health Unit. Dr. Lim also tackled about the recognition that was awarded to the Municipality of Siaton on the “Balik Probinsiya with Livelihood” as the 2021 Good Nutrition Practice in the Region Award.

The Sangguniang Bayan continued to treat the CSO's who were applying for accreditation on Monday.

Barangay Budget for CY 2022 for Brgy Apoloy, Apoloy SK and Cabangahan SK Fund were discussed by the body.

A discussion was made by Mr. Nestor Macahig together with Mr. Blas Baldebrin Jr on the ordinance designating Barangay Siit and Barangay Bonbonon invthe Municipality of Siaton as tourist destination sites. And a representative of PHCCI in the person of Mr. Marc Anthony Caceres talked about their programs and services being offered to the employees of the LGU.

REGULAR SESSION 05-Sept-2022

Non-government organizations and Private organizations were requested to visit the Sangguniang Bayan of Siaton for their application for Accreditation. There were 47 organizations that applied for accreditation here in the municipality. Accredited associations will be eligible for selection of membership to the local special bodies which will be spearheaded by the DILG.

The council on the First Reading of Proposed Ordinance on the prohibition of stray animals in all public places within the municipality of Siaton.This ordinance is authored by Hon. Cliff Felix H. Diaz III.

Other agenda includes the endorsement of the Municipal Mayor requesting the authority to adopt n ordinance imposing an environmental fee on all extraction of minerals within the Province of Negros Oriental and the proposed resolution adopting guidelines on the use of the vehicle (van) of the SB Siaton.

5th REGULAR SESSION | August 8, 2022

SIWASA Board of Directors Mr Dionesio Diaz, Mrs Lina Villareal and Mr Francisco Diaz responded to the requests of the concerned citizens about some issues regarding why the management is unable to hold the association’s assembly.

On the other hand, market vendors from the Siaton Terminal paid a visit to the Sangguniang Bayan of Siaton to inquire about the Municipal Order to close business stalls including dry goods section, fruit and vegetables, meat/fish on August 8, 2022. They asked assistance from the SB Members to hear them out and were also attended to by Atty Maricel Asonio and Mr Peter Futalan.

Other matters are to be discussed next session.
