Pursuant to 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙡𝙚 116 𝙤𝙛 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙘𝙩 𝙉𝙤. 7394, otherwise known as the 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒆𝒓 𝑨𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔, all business entities intending to conduct sales promotions—including but not limited to raffles, discounts, freebies, and redemption programs—are legally required to secure a Sales Promotion Permit from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) prior to implementation.

This regulatory requirement applies to all promotional activities, whether:

• 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: Posted on official social media pages, websites, or digital platforms.

• 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻-𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲: Signage, posters, or banners exhibited outside the business establishment.

Under the law, the 𝗗𝗧𝗜 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁 serves as the consumer's assurance that the activity is legitimate, honest, and fair. Transparency is a mandated standard; thus, 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗧𝗜 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿.

In our commitment to fair trade and consumer welfare, our teams inspected major stores and retailers to ensure that Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs), as well as Rice, are sold within the Suggested Retail Prices (SRP). 🛒⚖️

By keeping a close watch on market trends, we aim to:

The DTI La Union Provincial Office joined the Lingap at Alagang Bayanihan (LAB) for All Caravan on January 27, 2026, in San Juan, La Union, a flagship initiative of First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

Led by Regional Director Merlie D. Membrere, with the presence of ROG Assistant Secretary Dominic Tolentino, DTI staff delivered on-site MSME services including Business Name Registration, Business Counselling, OTOP product showcases, and SB Corporation loan facilitation. The activity was further strengthened by PCE–Go Negosyo’s 3M (Mentorship, Money, Market) On Wheels, providing free negosyo mentorship and coaching.

Through this whole-of-government approach, DTI continues to empower MSMEs and bring inclusive, people-centered services closer to the community.

The DTI La Union, through its Negosyo Centers and Consumer Protection Division, conducted price monitoring of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs) and Noche Buena products in major grocery stores, supermarkets, and sari-sari stores across the province.

This initiative ensures that prices remain within the Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs) and protects consumers from overpricing as families prepare for the Christmas season. 🎄🛒
