TRIBUTE PLAY FOR A CAUSE FOR DUSTIN πŸπŸ•ŠοΈ

The Tribute Play for a Cause for Dustin has officially concluded.

Through the support and generosity of everyone who took part, we were able to raise a total of β‚±4,400, which shall be given to the family and relatives of our dear Dustin.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who came, played, supported, and extended their help for Dustin:

The Municipality of Santa Teresita marks a historic milestone as Jules Byron P. Mari becomes the town’s first scientist, bringing pride and distinction to the community through his remarkable achievements in the field of planetary sciences.

Mari successfully completed the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Planetary Geosciences (GeoPlanet), an internationally recognized program jointly offered by the Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal), UniversitΓ  degli Studi β€œGabriele d’Annunzio” di Chieti-Pescara (Italy), and Nantes UniversitΓ© (France) from August 2024 to June 2026.

His master’s research, titled β€œTriton’s Tenuous Atmosphere: Reconciling Three Decades of Pressure Observations with Updated Numerical Volatile Transport Model (VTM),” contributes to the scientific understanding of Triton, Neptune’s largest moon, highlighting his commitment to advancing planetary science through research and innovation.

Before pursuing his graduate studies abroad, Mari graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of the Philippines Baguio in 2022.

The Pambayang Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan of Santa Teresita lauded Mari’s achievement, recognizing it as a milestone not only for his family but also for the entire municipality. His success serves as a powerful reminder that excellence, perseverance, and dedication to knowledge can bring local talent to the global stage.

As Santa Teresita’s first scientist, Jules Byron P. Mari has set a remarkable precedent for future generations, inspiring young Teresians to pursue careers in science, research, and innovation while carrying the pride of their hometown wherever their aspirations may lead.

38 Teresiano Youth Leaders Complete Community-Based DRRM Course, Strengthening Local Disaster Preparedness

Santa Teresita, Cagayan β€” Thirty-eight (38) youth representatives from the Local Government Unit of Santa Teresita successfully completed the three-day Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CBDRRM) Course held from June 29 to July 1, 2026 at Pulsar Suites Hotel, Buntun, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The training equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, community resilience, and disaster response, empowering the youth to become proactive partners in safeguarding their communities against natural and human-induced hazards.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Santa Teresita expressed its sincere gratitude to Hon. Atty. Rodrigo P. De Gracia, CESE, Municipal Mayor, for his unwavering support, particularly in providing transportation for the delegation, enabling the young participants to attend the training successfully.

The Federation also extended its appreciation to MLGOO Michael Villamin for giving the Municipality of Santa Teresita the opportunity to participate in the capacity-building program, as well as to the Office of Civil Defense Region II for facilitating a comprehensive and meaningful training that strengthened the disaster preparedness capabilities of the municipality’s youth leaders.

Special recognition was likewise given to all thirty-eight Teresiano youth representatives for their active participation, enthusiasm, and commitment throughout the three-day course, reflecting their dedication to public service and community resilience.

During the graduation ceremony, SK Federation President and Ex-Officio Sangguniang Bayan Member Hon. Kurt Rappel T. Asuncion delivered the feedback message on behalf of the participants. In his address, he emphasized that the youth of Santa Teresita are now better prepared to serve as the community’s Kalasag during times of crisis.

β€œToday, we return to our municipality not only with certificates but with knowledge, skills, and a greater sense of responsibility. We are now the Kalasag of our community, bringing hope and light to every Teresiano family when disasters strike. This is the right time to unleash what we have learned and give back through meaningful service because the Philippines needs us now,” Asuncion said.

The successful completion of the training marks another milestone in the municipality’s commitment to youth development and disaster resilience. By investing in the capacity of young leaders, Santa Teresita continues to build a generation that is prepared, responsive, and committed to protecting lives and strengthening community resilience in the face of future disasters.
