The Municipal Tourism Office of Sta. Margarita, Samar, together with personnel from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO), Municipal Engineering Office (MEO), Municipal Treasurer’s Office (MTO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Municipal Health Office (MHO), successfully conducted site monitoring, assessment, and documentation activities to three (3) tourism-related business establishments in the municipality on May 26, 2026.

The establishments visited were:
📍 Villa Alicia Resort, Hotel, and Restaurant
📍 Crown Jewel Travelers Inn
📍 Buds & Bloom Nature Park

Our greatest gratitude to the owners/operators/managers/staff of these three establishments for their warm welcome and hospitality.

The activity aims to ensure compliance with tourism-related standards, safety protocols, environmental sustainability measures, sanitation requirements, and other regulatory policies in support of strengthening the tourism industry of Sta. Margarita, Samar.

The Municipal Tourism Office extends its heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Mayor Felix R. Panganoron for his unwavering support to tourism development initiatives of the municipality. Likewise, sincere appreciation is also extended to Municipal Administrator George Binas and to our driver, Mr. Diogenes Galibo, for their assistance and support throughout the activity.

The Municipal Tourism Office extends its sincere gratitude to Mayor Felix R. Panganoron for his continuous support to tourism development initiatives, as well as to Admin George Binas and driver Diogenes Galibo for their assistance and support during the conduct of the activity.

The Local Government Unit of Sta. Margarita, Samar has been awarded a Certificate of Compliance No. 2025-461 by Dr. Eric B. Zerrudo, Chairman and Executive Director of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), for the successful submission of a compliant and acceptable Local Cultural Inventory for the “Alimango Festival” of Sta. Margarita, Samar, recognized as an intangible cultural property of the municipality.

This recognition is in compliance with Article V of Republic Act No. 11961, amending the National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009, and pursuant to DILG-NCCA JMC No. 2021-001 regarding the standardized submission of Local Cultural Inventory under the Philippine Registry of Cultural Property.

The said Certificate of Compliance shall remain valid and effective until December 31, 2026.

A group of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM) students from NWSSU, Main Campus, Calbayog City conducted interview to the Tourism Operations Officer of LGU Sta. Margarita, Samar regarding the priority programs and best practices of the municipality in regards to tourism. It aims to gain deeper understanding of the initiatives of the Municipal Tourism Office of Sta. Margarita, Samar, being implemented to serve the community effectively and learning about the key development programs, governance strategies, community engagement efforts, and innovative practices that have contributed to the progress of the municipality.
