The Sangguniang Bayan of Santa Magdalena hereby announces the posting of the following approved municipal ordinance for the information and guidance of the public:

🔹 Municipal Ordinance No. 1227

An Ordinance Institutionalizing the Educational Assistance Through Cash-for-Work Program, known as the “SMARTS” (Santa Magdalena Assistance for Responsible Talents and Students) Program, and for Other Purposes.

📣 COMMITTEE HEARING UPDATE

The Committee on Games and Amusement, chaired by Hon. Noel Agripa, successfully conducted a committee hearing on July 8, 2026, to deliberate on the request for the issuance of a Special Cockfight Permit for the proposed dates of August 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2026.

The committee carefully reviewed the request in accordance with existing laws, ordinances, and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all proceedings were conducted with transparency, accountability, and in the best interest of the municipality.

The Sangguniang Bayan remains committed to promoting responsible governance through thorough legislative deliberation and fair decision-making.

📣 COMMITTEE HEARING UPDATE

The Committee on Appropriations and the Committee on Laws, Rules, and Regulations, chaired by Hon. Gina Frayna Correa and Hon. Natalio T. Gaton, Jr., successfully conducted a committee hearing on June 15, 2026.

The hearing focused on the deliberation of a proposed Barangay Ordinance of Barangay 1 Poblacion revising Ordinance No. 01, Series of 2011. The proposed measure seeks to increase the rates, fees, and charges for barangay clearances, certifications, and other documents issued by the Barangay, as well as for other related purposes.

The committee carefully reviewed the proposed amendments to ensure that they are responsive to the needs of the community and aligned with existing laws, policies, and regulations.

The Sangguniang Bayan remains committed to promoting effective local legislation and responsive governance for the welfare of the people of Sta. Magdalena.

The 47th Regular Session of the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Sta. Magdalena was successfully held on June 15, 2026.

The session welcomed the newly designated BFP Municipal Fire Marshal, SF02 Mark James Lareza Borras, during a courtesy call. Former Fire Marshal SF03 Rey Deocareza also expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the support he received during his service.

Also present were OIC Head Mr. Kenneth Gollena and Ms. Elma Gollena, Dean of the BS Agriculture Program of Veritas College of Irosin, for a consultation and clarification, in aid of legislation, regarding the proposed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of the College’s On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program.

The Sangguniang Bayan remains committed to fostering collaboration, supporting education, and promoting responsive local governance for the benefit of the people of Sta. Magdalena.
