In view of the possible impacts of the combined effects of the Southwest Monsoon, Mirasol, Nando, and Severe Tropical Storm “Opong”, the Provincial Government of Laguna has activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Incident Management Team (IMT) under the leadership of our Chairperson, Governor Sol Aragones.

The activation of the EOC and IMT ensures that our disaster response remains organized, fast, and effective. These systems work together to maintain clear communication, safety of our communities, manage resources efficiently, and carry out immediate actions to lessen the impact of the typhoon.

We strongly encourage everyone to stay informed, remain vigilant, and follow all official advisories and warnings as we continue to to protect lives and reduce the risks brought by this weather disturbance.

Let us remain united and prepared. Stay safe, Laguna.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AND STANDARD FIRST AID TRAINING
Municipality of Paete

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Paete headed by Mr. Albert Noceja successfully conducted a 5-day Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid Training facilitated by certified trainers from PDRRMO Laguna, San Pablo CDRRMO and PNP Siniloan.

Participants were equipped with vital life-saving skills such as:
*High-quality CPR and use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
*Rescue breathing and management of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO)
*Bandaging techniques, splinting, lifting, and moving procedures

With these skills, participants are now more prepared to respond to emergencies and save lives.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC), under the leadership of Hon. Belen Raga, Municipal Mayor, successfully concluded the Basic Incident Command System (ICS) Training in coordination with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) CALABARZON, facilitated by Regional CADREs.

The Incident Command System (ICS) is a standardized, on-scene, all-hazard incident management framework. It enables responders to adopt an integrated organizational structure tailored to the complexity and demands of single or multiple incidents, ensuring effective coordination without being limited by jurisdictional boundaries.

ENHANCED LOCAL DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND MANAGEMENT PLAN FORMULATION AND UPDATING

Trained facilitators from PDRRMO, Laguna Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Office and Cavite OPDRRMO facilitated the updating of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan of the Municipal Government of Sta. Cruz, Laguna. This was participated by the members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.

The Enhanced Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (eLDRRMP) serves as a vital framework to guide Local Government Units (LGUs) in their strategic efforts to prevent, mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. It supports disaster-resilient development, aligns local efforts with national policies, promotes public awareness, and fosters effective coordination with stakeholders.

The PDRRMO through the guidance and leadership of Governor Sol Aragones, is consistently providing technical assistance to the C/MDRRMO within the Province of Laguna with the aim of attaining a disaster resilient province.

Basic Life Support Training is a standardized course designed to teach individuals how to recognize life-threatening emergencies and provide high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED), techniques for Rescue breathing and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (FBAO) and proper demonstrations of CPR and FBAO.
