NATIONAL READING MONTH 2025

Last November, Mongpong National High School celebrated the joy and power of reading a gateway to imagination, knowledge, and endless possibilities. Reading truly serves as a bridge, guiding every learner toward a future full of hope, confidence, and opportunity.

The celebration, spearheaded by Ms. May Renalette B. Vizarra, Ms. Judy Ann P. Quinto and Mr. Ricky P. Fidelino, featured exciting and meaningful activities. The program began with a Parade of Characters, Opening Prayer, and National Anthem, followed by Welcome Remarks from School Head Ma’am Sheryl M. Mendoza and an inspiring Message from SHS Coordinator Mr. Ricky P. Fidelino. Students showcased their talents in Story Telling, Declamation, Monologue, and Role Playing competitions, bringing stories and lessons to life.

Let’s continue fostering a culture of reading—one that sparks curiosity, strengthens literacy, and empowers every learner to succeed. Together, we build hopeful futures, one book at a time!

MONGPONG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL -COASTAL CLEAN-UP DRIVE

Mongpong National High School successfully carried out a meaningful and science-based Coastal Clean-up Drive last November 11, 2025, led by the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) under the guidance of Ms. Maria Carene Q. Padolina. The activity was made possible with the support of SSLG, BKD, Glee Club, teachers, parents, and the entire MNHS community**.

The clean-up formed part of the school’s rehabilitation efforts following the aftermath of Typhoon Uwan, which brought debris and waste along the shoreline. Students and teachers worked together to clean the Mongpong Coastal Areas and Pier while conducting simple data gathering and environmental monitoring to identify pollution sources and strengthen awareness on proper waste management.

MNHS extends its heartfelt thanks to the Mongpong Barangay Officials for granting permission to clean the area, and to the parents for their continued support and cooperation.

Special acknowledgment is also given to our School Head, Mrs. Sheryl M. Mendoza, who, despite not being physically present, offered her full support to ensure the success of the activity.

This initiative showcases the power of science, collaboration, and community spirit in upholding MNHS’s mission to protect the environment and preserve the coastline especially in the face of growing climate challenges. 🌏🌿

SECOND QUARTER EXAMINATION - DAY 1 | OCTOBER 23, 2025

In full support of academic excellence and integrity, Mrs. Sheryl M. Mendoza, School Head, actively monitored Day 1 of the Second Quarter Examination for both Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS) students. Her presence ensured a smooth, fair, and well-organized testing environment, addressing concerns promptly and reinforcing exam guidelines.

Kudos to our students and faculty for their cooperation and focus throughout the day!

EMPOWERING BEGINNING TEACHERS: LAC SUPPORT FOR TIP YEAR 1 IMPLEMENTATION

Mongpong National High School successfully conducted the Coursebook 1 and 3 session of the program “Empowering Beginning Teachers: LAC Support for TIP Year 1 Implementation.”

The activity was graced by Mr. Jomar R. Quimora as the Resource Speaker, together with the full support and guidance of our School Head, Mrs. Sheryl M. Mendoza. The Program Management Team was composed of Mrs. Robina Decena as Documenter and Ms. Maria Carene Q. Padolina as Modulator.

The session was actively participated in by the teachers of Mongpong NHS, with the goal of strengthening teaching practices, supporting beginning teachers in their professional journey, and enhancing the overall quality of instruction in the school.
