On June 5, 2026, at about 3:45 PM, PCPT MEDEL A PERINION, Officer-In-Charge of Sta. Catalina Municipal Police Station, received ENSIGN NEIL JAY M RUBION, Philippine Coast Guard, Substation Commander of CGSS, during a courtesy call held at Sta. Catalina Municipal Police Station, Barangay Poblacion, Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur.

The courtesy call was conducted to strengthen inter-agency coordination, foster camaraderie, and enhance collaboration between the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Coast Guard in promoting peace and order, public safety, and security within their respective areas of responsibility. Matters concerning mutual cooperation, coordination mechanisms, and future collaborative activities were likewise discussed to further improve the delivery of public service and law enforcement operations.

ℙℝ𝔼𝕊𝕊 ℝ𝔼𝕃𝔼𝔸𝕊𝔼 / One Male apprehended for the Crime of Grave Threat

At around 3:10 PM on June 4, 2026, personnel of Sta. Catalina MPS immediately responded to a report regarding an alleged grave threat incident in Barangay Cabittaogan, Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur.

Responding personnel were able to recover one Airgun (Eskopeta Type) allegedly used by the suspect. Investigation disclosed that the suspect allegedly threatened several individuals and pointed the said air gun at them following a misunderstanding with one of the victims.

The suspect was subsequently brought to Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital Gabriela Silang for medico-legal examination and is now under police custody. The recovered air gun was turned over to the Ilocos Sur Provincial Forensic Unit for proper disposition. Appropriate charges were prepared against the suspect.

On June 5, 2026 at about 9:58 AM personnel of Sta Catalina MPS under the supervision of PCPT MEDEL A PERINION, Officer-In-Charge conducted Distribution of flyers regarding crime prevention tips and public safety tips to the constituents of Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur aimed to raise public awareness, promote vigilance, and encourage community cooperation in preventing crime and ensuring public safety.
