PSPG RPSPU Six This page belongs to the RPSPU6 of Police Security and Protection Group of the PNP. It is the lingua franca of the region. Halaran of Capiz. Binirayan of Antique.

Region 6 is composed of the provinces of Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Antique, Capiz and Aklan, and the highly urbanized cities of Bacolod and Iloilo. Negros Occidental, the country's “Sugar Bowl” since the Spanish era, is known for its sprawling sugar haciendas and the grandiose ancestral mansions of sugar barons. Antique was considered as the “Home of the Sacadas” because it was a major source of

migrant labor for the sugar cane fields of Negros Occidental. The languages native to the inhabitants of Western Visayas are Hiligaynon, spoken in Iloilo, Negros Occidental, Guimaras, and Capiz (where it is known as Capiznon). The Ati-Atihan Festival is a Philippine festival held annually in January in honor of the Santo Niño (Holy Child or Infant Jesus) in several towns of the province of Aklan, Panay Island. Other festivals held in the region with similar themes include:

Region 6 products are palay, coconut, mango, vegetables, livestock, poultry and fishing as major products.. major industries are tourism, fruit processing, coconut processing, fish farming, handicrafts making, mining, quarrying and lime production. Panay Island is home to the world-famous Boracay Island. Boracay Island has what is considered to be the best white sand beach not only in the Philippines but arguably the world. RPSPU6 personnel Conducts Disaster Preparedness and Inspection Activities
On May 17, 2025, PNP personnel of RPSPU6, conducted inspections and coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) in line with the PNP’s disaster preparedness efforts.
The team visited key areas including the MDRRM Operation Center, and identified flood-prone zones to ensure readiness and implement mitigating measures in anticipation of the rainy season and possible weather disturbances.
These proactive actions reflect our continuous commitment to public safety and community resilience.
