In support to the Department of Education’s (DepEd) effort to improve literacy outcomes of young learners, San Antonio Elementary School conducted a three-day activity entitled -School-Level Capacity Building on Integrated Literacy Education (ILE) for Kindergarten and Key Stage (KS1) Teachers dated on May 26-28, 2026. The training brought together teachers from Kindergarten and Grades 1 to 3 to deepen their understanding and application of the Integrated Learning Experience (ILE) framework.
The first day of the activity dated on May 26, 2026, highlights the foundational concepts, principles, and frameworks that support the implementation of the Integrated Learning Experience (ILE) to the KS1 level.
On the second day, May 27, 2026, the activity focus on enhancing teachers’ understanding of 21st-century competencies, effective pedagogical approaches, and the practical implementation of the Integrated Literacy Education Framework.
Meanwhile, the last day of the activity dated May 28, 2026, accents on the Integrated Learning Experience (ILE) package materials. Various components of the ILE package, which included lesson exemplars, learning resources, activity sheets, assessment tools and teacher support materials that support integrated literacy instruction are presented to the teacher participants.
The activity provided teachers with valuable opportunities to gain knowledge, insights, and practical experiences that will support the effective implementation of the Integrated Learning Experience (ILE) Framework in addressing the diverse learning needs of young learners. It concluded with the awarding of certificates to all teacher-participants in recognition of their active participation, dedication, and commitment throughout the three-day activity and recognition to the resource speakers who shared insights and expertise all throughout the three-day activity.
