In line with the implementation of the Local Government Support Fund – Green Green Green Program (LGSF-GGGP) with the project entitled the Construction of Public Park in the Province of Guimaras: Guimaras Tree Park amounting to ₱10, 011,888, the Guimaras Environment and Natural Resources Office (GENRO) conducted a coordination meeting on June 4, 2026, at the CAVES Conference Room, San Miguel, Jordan.
The meeting tackled the redesigning of project plans and reprogramming of Program of Works, re-survey and site staking activities, and agreed on the timeline of activities for the project implementation.
Technical personnel from the Provincial Budget Office (PBO), Provincial Economic Development Office (P**O), Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), and GENRO participated in the discussion, demonstrating their continued commitment to the successful implementation of sustainable and environmentally responsive development projects in the province.

The Guimaras Environment and Natural Resources Office conducted the Water Use and Supply Management (WUSM) Sub-Committee Meeting on May 28, 2026 at the CAVES Conference Room, Kapitolyo Probinsyal sang Guimaras.

The meeting was presided over by For. Julieta T. Gabayeron, OIC-PENR Officer of DENR-PENRO Guimaras and Chairperson of WUSM Sub-Committee.

The meeting discussions focused on updates of Sub-Committee resolutions, concerns on the limited tree-planting sites, the proposed installation of cistern tanks for water refilling stations and assistance from PEMSEA for the Guimaras Water Security Plan. Reporting of accomplishments and updates from each member agency was undertaken, and activities for the Environment Month Celebration were also discussed.

Attendees included representatives from the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Provincial Office of Agricultural Services (POAS), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Education (DepEd), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-PENRO), Local Government Units( LGUs) of San Lorenzo, Buenavista and Jordan, Jordan Water District, Buenavista Water District, and GENRO as secretariat.

The meeting strengthened collaboration and coordination among member agencies in addressing issues and initiatives concerning sustainable water use and supply management.

The Mineral Resource Management and Geosciences Section (MRMGS) of the Guimaras Environment and Natural Resources Office successfully conducted the Orientation on Mining Laws, Rules, and Regulations and the Deputation of the Provincial Law Enforcement and Public Safety Task Force (PLEPS-TF) Personnel on May 7, 2026, at the CAVES Conference Room.

Engr. Kimberly A. Villa, Engineer IV and OIC-Chief of the Mining Tenement and Evaluation Section, and In-Concurrent Capacity as Chief Monitoring and Technical Services Section of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region VI (MGB VI), as the resource speaker for the activity.

Key provisions was discussed under DENR Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2026-04, also known as the Environment and Natural Resources Law Enforcement Manual of Operations (ELEMO), including Mining Laws and Permit Issuances, and Prohibited Acts and Penal Provisions. The discussion was followed by an engaging open forum with the participants.

Also present during the activity were Engr. Errol C. Fuentes, Engineer V and Chief of the Mine Management Division, and Engr. Van Justin A. Podiotan, Engineer II of the Monitoring and Technical Services Section of MGB Regional Office VI.

Mr. Leonard S. Pasiderio, Provincial ENR Officer, emphasized during his closing remarks the important role of the deputized personnel in promoting responsible and regulated mining practices, and ensuring public safety across the province. He also expressed his confidence that they will continue to perform their duties with commitment, integrity, and dedication.

The activity was attended by 14 PLEPS-TF personnel assigned in 5 municipalities.
