PNP STATEMENT ON SECURITY AND POST-EVENT OPERATIONS FOR THE TRILLION PESO MARCH

The Philippine National Police affirms that the security measures implemented for the Trillion Peso March were guided by our mandate to safeguard the public and help ensure a calm and orderly conduct of the day’s activities. Given the scale and anticipated turnout of the assemblies, the PNP prepared a security posture designed to anticipate various scenarios, with the primary intention of supporting a safe environment for all participants. Our long-standing approach has always emphasized careful planning and adequate coordination to minimize risks and maintain steady operations on the ground.

After the dispersal of participants, PNP personnel assisted in restoring normal conditions in the areas used for the gatherings. This included working closely with local government units, partner agencies, volunteers, and community stakeholders who took part in the post-event cleanup efforts. Their cooperation greatly contributed to the prompt clearing and orderly return of these public spaces.

Now that the November 30 activities have concluded, the PNP continues to carry out its regular law enforcement operations nationwide. These initiatives proceed alongside our day-to-day policing functions and remain central to our commitment to public safety, accountability, and the rule of law.

The Philippine National Police reiterates its support for peaceful assemblies and remains dedicated to working collaboratively with communities and institutions through consistent preparation, clear coordination, and professional service.

“Our units carried out their duties with professionalism and restraint. Your conduct reflects the values expected of the Philippine National Police,” dagdag pa niya.

“To the men and women of the PNP, your service today is acknowledged. To the public, thank you for your cooperation and trust. Your Philippine National Police will continue to guard our communities with fairness, vigilance, and dedication, long after the crowds have dispersed.”

PNP Steps Up Preparations for 2025 Elections: Gen. Marbil Issues Stern Warning Against Political Interference

As the filing of candidacies for the 2025 elections is set to take place in the first week of October, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil, has directed all local police units to step up their election-related preparations. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the PNP’s core functions: intelligence, investigation, operations, and community relations.

Gen. Marbil also issued a stern warning to all police officers against allowing themselves to be used by political figures, reaffirming the PNP’s commitment to maintaining peace and order during the election period.

“We are entering a crucial period as candidates for the 2025 elections begin filing their certificates of candidacy. I am directing all local police units to remain vigilant, perform their duties efficiently under the Quad principle, and ensure public safety. At the same time, I am reminding every officer that political neutrality is a core responsibility. Do not allow yourselves to be influenced or used by politicians,” Gen. Marbil stressed.

The Chief, PNP emphasized the PNP’s responsibility to uphold law and order without any bias or political partisan, reiterating that any officer found engaging in partisan activities or compromising the integrity of the police force will be dealt with accordingly.

“The PNP is tasked with protecting the democratic process, not participating in it. We will not tolerate any officer who compromises our commitment to neutrality and fairness. Any form of political interference, whether directly or indirectly, will be met with swift and decisive action,” Gen. Marbil further warned.

He further reminded police officers that their conduct reflects the PNP’s dedication to earning public trust, noting that the nation is closely observing how the PNP ensures public safety during this significant political exercise.

“It is our duty to ensure that the election process remains peaceful, orderly, and secure. Every police officer must remember their oath to serve the people, not politicians,” he pointed out.

Gen. Marbil also encouraged the public to cooperate with the PNP during the election period and to report any irregularities involving law enforcement personnel.

“Our goal is to deliver a safe and credible election. With the cooperation of the public and the dedication of our police force, we will succeed in ensuring that the 2025 elections are fair and peaceful,” he added.

The PNP will continue to collaborate with various agencies to ensure heightened security during the filing of candidacies and throughout the election period, maintaining a steadfast focus on public safety and the integrity of the electoral process.
