The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reiterates its warning to the public against individuals or groups phishing for personal information via calls or messaging apps such as WhatsApp.
These individuals, posing to be from the PSA, claim to offer assistance and ask National ID-registered individuals to access a link, share their screens, delete applications, and turn off security features of their mobile phones.
The PSA underscores that these calls are NOT from the agency. The PSA will never reach out via messaging apps such as WhatsApp to request personal information, process National ID registration, provide updating services, issue any format of the National ID, or assist in its delivery.
Further, National ID registration, updating services and issuance of National ID in paper format are provided only at National ID registration centers and mobile registration sites. The National ID card will also be delivered to the address provided during registration. On the other hand, the Digital National ID can only be accessed via the eGovPH mobile application.
We urge the public to remain vigilant against unsolicited calls or messages and to avoid sharing your personal information to individuals.
