Another Milestone Toward Excellence ✨

The Occidental Mindoro Parole and Probation Office – headed by SPPO/OIC Cheska Marie M. Atienza, alongside Sr. PPO Macario L. Acotina, PPO I Rijane R. Palomera, ADA Jonalyn De Vera, and CDA Mark Kelvin Ilao – successfully underwent its Internal Quality Audit (IQA) conducted by Team 6 as part of its continuing commitment to maintaining an effective and responsive Quality Management System.

The audit team was composed of CPPO Laureen F. Sandoval (Region II) as Team Leader, SrPPO Romuella C. Quezon (Cordillera Administrative Region) and SrPPO Adel A. Martir (Central Office) as Team Members, with CPPO Lebante and ADA IV Aborot serving as Observers.

We express our sincere gratitude to the members of Team 6 for their professionalism, guidance, constructive feedback, and unwavering support throughout the audit process. Together, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of excellence and our mission of transforming lives through quality public service.

The Occidental Mindoro Parole and Probation Office—SPPO/OIC Cheska Marie M. Atienza, Sr. PPO Macario L. Acotina, PPO I Rijane R. Palomera, and ADA Jonalyn E. De Vera conducted a courtesy call with JINSP Arnel S Cabrillas, Warden of the BJMP Mamburao District Jail, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen coordination and partnership with partner agencies in the delivery of justice services.

The activity was followed by the interview of qualified Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) for probation, focusing on the assessment of their eligibility and the gathering of necessary information to support their probation applications.

Through collaborative efforts between justice sector stakeholders, the activity highlights the shared commitment to promoting rehabilitation, reintegration, and restorative justice for qualified individuals seeking an opportunity to rebuild their lives within the bounds of the law.

As part of the Department of Justice – Parole and Probation Administration (DOJ-PPA) 50th Anniversary celebration, the personnel of the Occidental Mindoro Parole and Probation Office—SPPO/OIC Cheska Marie M. Atienza, SrPPO Macario L. Acotina, PPO I Rijane R. Palomera, and ADA Jonalyn E. De Vera—together with their Department of Labor and Employment – Government Internship Program (DOLE-GIP) personnel, conducted a meaningful tree-planting activity that highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship and demonstrated how collective efforts can create a lasting impact.

On July 14, 2026, with the generous support of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, represented by Mr. Marlon Cortez, who provided 250 tree seedlings, clients from the San Jose, Magsaysay, Rizal, and Calintaan (SaMaRiCa) cluster actively participated in the tree-planting activity held at Sitio Antipolo, Barangay Mangarin, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

More than just planting seedlings, the activity was about working together, giving back to nature, and leaving a greener legacy for future generations. Every tree planted is a step toward a healthier and more sustainable community.

As part of its continuing commitment to the effective administration of justice, the Occidental Mindoro Parole and Probation Office, headed by SPPO/OIC Cheska Marie M. Atienza, together with ADA Jonalyn De Vera, conducted a Jail Decongestion Activity and interviewed Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF). The activity aimed to identify qualified PDLs who may be considered for community-based corrections, in support of the government's jail decongestion efforts and the promotion of rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society.

This activity forms part of our continuing efforts to support the efficient administration of justice by facilitating timely case processing and strengthening coordination with our partner institutions. Through initiatives like this, we remain committed to delivering responsive public service with professionalism, fairness, and respect for the rights and dignity of every individual.

On June 5, 2026, the Occidental Mindoro Parole and Probation Office, headed by SPPO/OIC Cheska Marie M. Atienza, together with ADA Jonalyn De Vera and CDA Mark Kelvin Ilao, facilitated the participation of its clients in the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Driving Training Program as part of our continuing commitment to empowering individuals through skills development.

The training equipped participants with essential knowledge and practical competencies in safe and responsible driving, preparing them for competency assessment and opening opportunities for future employment. This initiative highlights the importance of inter-agency collaboration in promoting workforce readiness and improving the quality of life of our clients through technical-vocational education.

Occidental Mindoro PPO extends its sincere appreciation to TESDA, under the leadership of TESDA Occidental Mindoro - Provincial Director Olivette J. Pastores with TESDA Specialist Bhernel Janine Salvio, for its continued partnership and unwavering support in making this program possible.
