The Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office of Occidental Mindoro proudly joins the nation in celebrating the 38th Anniversary of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), a landmark initiative that continues to uphold social justice, equitable land distribution, and rural development for Filipino farmers.

As we commemorate this significant milestone, DARPO Occidental Mindoro reaffirms its commitment to empowering Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), strengthening agrarian communities, and advancing sustainable agricultural development in the province.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) officials, headed by Superintendent CSSUPT ROGER O BONCALES, visited the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office (DARPO) to discuss the proposed creation of a cooperative for farmers BuCor personnel.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the delineation of areas covered under the Deed of Transfer (DOT) against the actual area presently being utilized by the Sablayan Penal Prison and Farm (SPPF).

The meeting also served as a venue to clarify land-use and boundary concerns, as well as to determine the extent of areas currently occupied and utilized by SPPF. In addition, BuCor inquired about the possibility of identifying and covering qualified areas under Executive Order No. 75, subject to validation and compliance with existing agrarian reform laws, rules, and regulations.

The activity strengthened coordination between DARPO and BuCor in addressing land tenure issues and exploring opportunities for the benefit of farmers, BuCor personnel, and other stakeholders.

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Occidental Mindoro, headed by OIC-PARPO II Ferdinand M. De Gala, welcomed Provincial Assessor Engr. Arnold Dennis M. Eugenio, REA, during his courtesy visit to the office.

The meeting provided an opportunity for consultation and discussion on various issues and concerns under the Provincial Governor's Office, as well as matters requiring coordination among government agencies. The engagement highlighted the importance of strengthening institutional partnerships and fostering collaborative efforts to efficiently deliver public services.

DAR Provincial Office extends its appreciation to the Provincial Assessor for the productive exchange of ideas and insights. The Office remains committed to working closely with partner agencies and stakeholders to promote responsive governance and advance the goals of agrarian reform and rural development.

𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞, 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐨 - The future of agrarian reform shines brighter as the youth take an active role in shaping sustainable and empowered rural communities.

With the theme “Strengthening Agrarian Reform Through Youth Involvement,” the successful conduct of the 2026 Youth Engagement served as a meaningful avenue to inspire young individuals to become active partners in promoting agricultural development, leadership, and social responsibility.

The activity brought together students, youth leaders, and stakeholders for a collaborative discussion on the importance of youth participation in nation-building and agrarian reform initiatives. Through the sharing of insights and experiences, the event highlighted how the younger generation can contribute innovative ideas and fresh perspectives in strengthening the agricultural sector.

The program was graced by distinguished guests and officials whose presence added inspiration and significance to the event. Among those who attended were the Municipal Mayor of San Jose, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐑𝐞𝐲 𝐂. 𝐋𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐠𝐚, the Principal IV of SJNHS, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐡𝐞 𝐌. 𝐃𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧, DAR MIMAROPA Regional Director, 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐁. 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥, Assistant Regional Director, 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐌. 𝐋𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐳, OIC-CARPO, 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐓. Their messages emphasized the value of empowering the youth as catalysts of change and partners in achieving a progressive and inclusive agrarian reform program. The activity also strengthened collaboration between the Department of Agrarian Reform-Occidental Mindoro, the Local Government Unit of San Jose, and educational institutions in cultivating socially aware and community-oriented future leaders.

As the program concluded, one message resonated strongly among participants and organizers alike: The youth possess the strength and wisdom needed to support and continue the advocacy for the advancement of agrarian reform; they are not merely the leaders of tomorrow—they are already important contributors today.

Indeed, the 2026 Youth Engagement became more than just an activity—it became a platform that encouraged youth to help build a stronger agricultural future for generations to come.
