MONDAY FLAG RAISING CEREMONY

The Antique PPO, under the leadership of PCOL RYAN A DEVARAS, Provincial Director, commenced the week with the traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony, reaffirming the commitment of its personnel to honor, duty, discipline, and service to the community.

The ceremony serves as a reminder to every police officer to uphold the values of integrity, professionalism, and dedication as we continue working together for a safer and more peaceful Antiqueños.

UNIFIED 911 SUCCESS STORY

At about 3:30 PM of August 26, 2026, call received through Emergency Hotline 911 and requested police assistance regarding an alleged vehicular accident (self-accident) at Sitio Tarog, Brgy. Igbalangao, Bugasong, Antique. Upon receipt of the report, personnel of Bugasong MPS, led by PMSg Robert Jake A Catalan, immediately proceeded to the area to verify the report and conduct an investigation. The responding team arrived at the scene at about 3:33 PM of the same date. Initial investigation disclosed that a certain "Leo" 34 years old, male, single, farmer, and resident of Brgy. Igbalangao, Bugasong, Antique, was driving an orange Motorstar Zest 110 motorcycle without a plate number, with "Remel", 25 years old, single, jobless, and resident of the same barangay, as back rider. They were travelling from east (Igbalangao) toward west (Ilaures) when the driver allegedly lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a steel railing, causing both occupants to be thrown off the motorcycle. As a result, the driver sustained cuts on his left knee and leg and bruises on his left face, while the back rider sustained a wound on his left neck. Both injured persons were immediately transported by the Bugasong Emergency Response Team to Bugasong Medicare Community Hospital for medical treatment. The driver was reportedly believed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor. The motorcycle was subsequently brought to Bugasong MPS for proper disposition.

5 nabbed as PRO6 tightens watch over Antique, Iloilo fishing grounds

Five people were arrested and nearly ₱474,000 worth of fishing gear and related items were confiscated in three anti-illegal fishing operations in Antique and Iloilo within 24 hours.

Police Regional Office 6 said the operations were conducted from 6 a.m. Sept. 2 to 5:59 a.m. Sept. 3.

Iloilo accounted for the bigger share, with two operations leading to four arrests and about ₱416,600 worth of confiscated items.

In Antique, one operation resulted in one arrest and the confiscation of fishing-related items worth about ₱56,900.

PRO6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño framed the operations as both law enforcement and protection of the waters and livelihoods coastal communities depend on.

“Our waters are a source of livelihood for many families, so protecting them also means protecting our communities,” Tuaño said. “We will continue to enforce the law fairly and responsibly, while working with local authorities and our fishing communities.”

He also urged fisherfolk to comply with fishing regulations and secure the required permits and clearances before heading out.

“If you are unsure about a requirement, coordinate with the proper local authorities first,” Tuaño said. “Prevention is always better than having a violation later on.”
