PARTNERSHIP THAT EMPOWERS COMMUNITIES đŸ€â­

A significant milestone was marked through the Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and the official launching of the STAR para sa Barangay Advocacy Program, under the leadership of JSSUPT JHON D MONTERO, MM, Regional Director. This meaningful undertaking stemmed from the drive of JSUPT JORGE ALLAN D’MAY Y SORIANO, Provincial Administrator of Antique, to provide a Capacity Enhancement Program for Barangay Tanods of Semirara in recognition of their vital role as frontliners in maintaining peace, order, and community safety.

Through the expertise and leadership of JSINSP IRISH ADRIANNE G GUMARU, CESE, STAR Team Leader, Subject Matter Expert, and STAR para sa Barangay Proponent, together with the STAR Team Facilitators, this advocacy aims to empower communities through capacity enhancement programs designed to equip Barangay Tanods with essential knowledge and practical skills, including armed and unarmed response strategies, Basic Life Support (BLS), and other relevant competencies that strengthen their readiness to serve and protect their communities.

Our appreciation to the BLGU-Semirara led by Kap. Kikai for graciously hosting and supporting this advocacy and for the warm partnership in making this undertaking possible.

Together, we continue building safer, stronger, and more empowered barangays.

STRONGER TOGETHER, SEMIRARA

The BJMP delegation, led by JSSUPT JHON D MONTERO, MM, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, together with JSUPT JORGE ALLAN D’MAY Y SORIANO, Provincial Administrator of BJMP Antique, JCINSP DEXTER JED S MAGAPAN, JSINSP IRISH ADRIANNE G GUMARU, CESE and other BJMP personnel, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Catherine “Kikai” Lim, RN, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Semirara and Liga ng mga Barangay President of the Municipality of Caluya.

Kap Kikai warmly received the delegation and expressed her support to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, particularly to the Provincial Jail Administration Office–Antique and its respective jail units, in the implementation of their programs and initiatives. She also personally toured the delegation around key facilities in Semirara and introduced some of the island’s notable attractions, giving the group a deeper appreciation of the community’s development, natural beauty, and commitment to sustainability.

The delegation likewise extends its sincere gratitude to Kap Kikai and the whole BLGU- Semirara Officials and Staffs for their generosity, warm welcome, and exceptional hospitality. It was truly a privilege to experience the welcoming spirit and kindness of the beautiful people of Semirara.

Indeed, the visit reflected the very essence of Semirara’s spirit, stronger together, through unity, cooperation, and shared commitment to community development.

Rigil Kent “Nonoy” Lim, Municipal Mayor of Caluya, Antique.

Mayor Lim warmly received the delegation and expressed his full support to the jail bureau in its continuing programs and initiatives.

Excellence takes center stage once again in BJMP Antique as JSUPT JORGE ALLAN D’MAY Y SORIANO is named Best Performing Provincial Administrator, while the Provincial Jail Administrator’s Office – Antique secures the distinction of Best Performing Provincial Jail Administrator’s Office for the 1st Quarter CY 2026.

FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT OF JSUPT JORGE ALLAN D’MAY Y SORIANO AS PROVINCIAL ADMINISTRATOR OF ANTIQUE

In line with his assumption to office, JSUPT JORGE ALLAN D’MAY Y SORIANO, Provincial Administrator, conducted his first official visit to Provincial Jail Administrator’s Office, San Jose District Jail and Culasi District Jail, directly assessing facility conditions, programs, and operational concerns of personnel.

The activity included the distribution of essential supplies to support the operational needs of personnel and the welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL)

During the visit, JSUPT SORIANO also conveyed his appreciation to the Philippine Dental Association – Antique Chapter, who recently facilitated a dental mission at San Jose District Jail, recognizing the importance of such initiatives in promoting the health and overall well-being of the PDL.

The visit served as both an initial assessment of existing conditions and a platform to reinforce organizational direction anchored on efficiency, coordination, and humane custodial management.

With sincere appreciation, the whole BJMP Antique Family extends its heartfelt send-off to our beloved Provincial Administrator, JSUPT LAUREEN C BALBOA.

Under your leadership, BJMP Antique became visible, recognized, and empowered, bringing out the best in each of us. With your guidance, courage, and compassion, you inspired and uplifted us, leading to three (3) consecutive recognitions as Best Provincial Administrator and Best Provincial Jail Administrator’s Office, along with multiple awards across our jail units.
