SAN JOSE, Antique โ Provincial government officials underscored the value of sacrifice, integrity, and discipline in public service during the Flag Raising Ceremony held on Monday, February 23, 2026.
Todayโs ceremony was sponsored by the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Provincial Economic and Enterprise Development Office (PEEDO), and the Internal Audit Services (IAS) Office.
โPublic service is a sacrifice. It demands suffering; it demands self-forgetfulness. Because if we only think of ourselves, then it is easy for us to leave or go astray,โ said Provincial Administrator, Atty. Robin P. Rubinos.
Atty. Rubinos emphasized that true fulfillment comes not from personal gratification but from sincere and faithful service to the Antiqueรฑos, where a public servantโs dedication leads to a deeper sense of purpose and genuine happiness.
Meanwhile, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, Hon. Fernando Corvera Sr. highlighted the vital roles of the sponsoring offices in strengthening development and economic growth in the province.
SP Corvera noted that the IAS serves as a tool in shaping policy direction, policy setting, and passable amendments to existing policies. He also cited the efforts of PEEDO and DTI, in coordination with the Provincial Government, in generating revenue through various programs and projects, as well as in promoting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
As Chairman of the Committee on NGOs and Cooperatives, SP Corvera also mentioned PCDOโs commitment to strengthening the growth of primary and billionaire cooperatives in towns such as Barbaza and Bugasong, with the San Jose Multi-Purpose Cooperative poised to soon emerge as another billionaire cooperative.
He also mentioned some legislations which encourage the municipalities to have their respective Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO). This would enable farmers, fisherfolk, women, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable sectors to actively participate in improving cooperative movements in the province.
