Barangay La Union successfully conducted an Anti-Drug Symposium for the students of Manuel S. Sr Nasser National High School, barangay functionaries and drug reformists of Brgy. La Union.

This activity highlights our continued commitment to educate, prevent, and empower the youth and the community against the dangers of illegal drugs.

Our sincere gratitude to our guest speaker from the MADAC Team Working Group Doc MaryCres M. Lerin, MD, Ptr. Juvanny A. Yap, Jonel D. Paderog, Deejay S. Juaban and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Pat. EJ S. Juaban and Pat. Bryan Bangkas for sharing their time, knowledge, and inspiring message to everyone present.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the school, Manuel S. Nasser Sr National High School, faculty, and students for their warm accommodation and active participation.

This meaningful activity highlights the dedication and full cooperation of the Barangay Officials, the Child Development Worker, and supportive parents in maintaining high standards for early childhood education.

Mayor Maria Angelica T. Go-Dayanghirang extends her heartfelt congratulations to all barangays, including passers and participants, for their unwavering dedication to strengthening local governance systems and delivering quality public services to their constituents. The Mayor emphasized that every barangay’s effort, regardless of the award received, contributes significantly to the overall progress and development of the municipality.

Mayor Angel also expresses her sincere appreciation and commendation to SGLG Focal Person Sir Joel Orbuda (MPDC) and MLGOO Janeth Toroba Ambor for their exemplary leadership, technical guidance, and commitment throughout the SGLGB 2025 process. Equal recognition is extended to the entire SGLGB Team and Evaluators, whose diligence, professionalism, and integrity ensured a fair, transparent, and credible assessment.

The Mayor further reaffirmed the LGU’s continued support for barangay development by providing cash incentives, or SGLGB Incentive Funds, to qualified awardees, as part of the municipality’s commitment to promoting excellence, accountability, and good governance at the grassroots level.

The Barangay and the Barangay Officials of Barangay La Union, would like to clarify that we do not tolerate any illegal activities, including the possession of unlicensed fi****ms and related contraband as depicted in the images circulating in social media.

We wish to emphasize that the barangay has no involvement whatsoever in this issue. The vehicle shown with markings referencing "Brgy. La Union" was not authorized for use in connection with the said incident.

We already coordinated with the proper authorities/officials for legal advices regarding this matter.

We assure our constituents that the peace and order of the barangay will not be affected and we will maintain a secure, peaceful, and progressive Barangay...

( Ang Barangay ug ang mga Opisyal sa Barangay La Union, gusto mopatin-aw nga dili kami motugot sa bisan unsang ilegal nga kalihokan, lakip na ang pagpanag-iya sa walay lisensya nga mga armas ug may kalabutan nga kontrabando sama sa gipakita sa mga hulagway nga nagkatag sa social media.

Gusto namong ipasiugda nga ang barangay walay bisan unsang kalambigitan niining isyuha. Ang sakyanan nga makita nga adunay marka nga naghisgot sa “Brgy. La Union” wala gitugotan nga gamiton nga may kalabutan sa maong insidente.

The Barangay La Union, successfully conducted an Anti-Drug Symposium as part of its continuing campaign against illegal drugs. The activity aimed to educate residents, especially the youth, on the harmful effects of drug use and the importance of making healthy life choices.

Resource speakers from PNP, PSSG RITCHEL TANJAY, PTR. JOVANIE YAP, DOH rep. ARIEL R. PLAZOS shared valuable insights, while participants actively engaged in discussions and pledged their commitment to a drug-free community.

The Barangay La Union Council extends its gratitude to everyone who supported and participated in the event.
