📢 REORGANIZATION OF BARANGAY AGRARIAN REFORM COMMITTEE (BARC)
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Manikling, successfully conducted the Reorganization of the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee (BARC) on May 21, 2026 at the Barangay Hall, Manikling, San Isidro, Davao Oriental.
This activity was conducted pursuant to Section VIII of DAR Memorandum Circular No. 5, Series of 2010, which provides the guidelines on the formation, organization, operationalization, and strengthening of Barangay Agrarian Reform Committees (BARC).
The reorganization aims to strengthen the active participation of farmers, agrarian reform beneficiaries, and community stakeholders in the effective implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) and other agrarian reform initiatives within the barangay.
Present during the activity was Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer (MARPO) Amor Jessa C. Pasague, who expressed support for the continued empowerment and organization of agrarian reform beneficiaries in the municipality.
During the reorganization, the following officers were affirmed:
• BARC Chairman – Floro M. Benigian
• Vice Chairman – Geneses Gerona
• Secretary - Chendy Mae Tequin
• Assistant Secretary – Jessilyn Guibaw
The newly reorganized officers formally took their oath before Punong Barangay Hon. Jose G. Alaba Jr., signifying their commitment to uphold the duties and responsibilities of the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee in serving the agrarian reform beneficiaries and the community of Barangay Manikling.
The DAR extends its appreciation to all participants, partner agencies, and stakeholders for their cooperation and commitment toward a stronger and more responsive Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee.
