Intramuros, Manila โ Relative the decision of the Honorable Supreme Court in the consolidated cases of G.R. No. E-02219 and G.R. No. E-02235 in connection with the conduct of the October 13, 2025 BARMM Parliamentary Elections, the Commission on Elections has resolved the following:
1.) ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ all comments submitted by the candidates, regional parliamentary political parties, sectoral organizations, citizensโ arms and other stakeholders in relation to the COMELEC Minute Resolution No. 25-1034. However, in view of the pronouncement of the Supreme Court in the consolidated cases of G.R. Nos. E-02219 and E-02235, the issue subject of the comments is now considered moot and academic;
2.) ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ the issue subject of the comments submitted by the candidates, regional parliamentary political parties, sectoral organizations, citizensโ arms and other stakeholders to have been rendered moot and academic bu the supervening decision of the Supreme Court in the consolidated cases of G.R. Nos. E-02219 and E-02235 declaring Bangsamoro Autonomy Act (BAA) No. 58 and BAA No. 77 unconstitutional;
3.) ๐๐ช๐๐๐ง the compliance by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) with the Supreme Courtโs directive on the determination of the parliamentary districts, by October 30, 2025 at the latest; and
4.) ๐๐๐๐ง all election prohibitions, inclusive of the lifting of the prohibitions on the bearing, carrying, or transporting of fi****ms and other deadly weapons in the entire BARMM region including the City of lsabela in Basilan, and MODIFY the calendar of activities relating to the conduct of the BARMM Parliamentary Elections (which must be conducted not later than 31 March 2026) upon compliance by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority with the Supreme Court's directive.
