port to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to facilitate its conversion into a productive economic growth center. Ramos issued Executive Order No. 103 establishing John Hay Development Corporation as a subsidiary and implementing arm of BCDA for Camp John Hay. This was subsequently amended to include the development of Wallace Air Station, thereby renaming it to John Hay Poro Point Development Corporation. It was under JPDC when the operation, management and development of the San Fernando International Seaport and San Fernando Airport were turned over to BCDA on February 1, 1997 and February 1, 1998, respectively. On 3 October 2002, Executive Order No. 132 was issued renaming the John Hay Poro Point Development Corporation to John Hay Management Corporation as the implementing arm of BCDA over the John Hay Special Economic Zone, and at the same time, authorizing the creation of the Poro Point Management Corporation. PPMC was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 6 January 2003.

100 SACKS OF RICE FOR ELYUโ€™S RECOVERY

Today, September 4, 2026, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) turned over 100 sacks of rice to the Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to support the recovery of communities heavily impacted by the recent monsoon rains.

The turnover was led by Vice President for Land and Assets Development Richard Brian M. Cepe of Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and Hon. Servillano C. Flores, Jr., President and CEO of Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC).

La Union Governor Hon. Mario Eduardo C. Ortega was present to receive the emergency aid, reinforcing the provinceโ€™s commitment to collaborative disaster response.

This Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative underscores the shared commitment of BCDA and PPMC to work closely with local governments in providing relief assistance to families in need.

JBIC INBOUND MISSION EXPLORES INVESTMENT POTENTIAL IN PORO POINT FREEPORT ZONE


On September 1, 2026, the Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC) welcomed a delegation from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for an inbound mission showcasing the investment landscape and strategic potential of the Poro Point Freeport Zone (PPFZ).


The delegation, led by Mr. Hiroshi Sagawa, JBIC Chief Representative, was warmly received by Hon. Servillano C. Flores Jr., PPMC President and CEO. Designed to foster direct engagement between Japanese investors and PPMC, the visit featured a comprehensive presentation highlighting PPFZโ€™s primary investment areas and strategic infrastructure initiatives.


Key PPFZ locators also presented their ongoing operations and expansion strategies during the mission: Thunderbird Pilipinas Hotels and Resorts, Inc.; Leading Edge International Aviation Academy, Inc.; AAG International Center for Aviation Training Corp.; Poro Point Agro-Industrial Development Co., Inc.; and Poro Point Suma Water, Inc.
