The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), deployed 8,097 beneficiaries under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program to assist in the preparation of 362 public schools across the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, and Bataan. The initiative provided a total of ₱52 million in temporary employment assistance to participating workers.
On June 1, 2026, DOLE Regional Office III and DepEd Regional Office III formally launched the 2026 Brigada Eskwela Regional Kick-Off Program at Gabaldon Central School in Nueva Ecija, carrying the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.”
Under the TUPAD-Brigada Eskwela initiative, beneficiaries actively participated in various school preparation activities, including the cleaning of classrooms, school grounds, canals, and surrounding areas; grass cutting; waste collection and segregation; tree planting; minor repairs of school furniture; repainting of facilities; and campus beautification efforts. These activities contributed significantly to ensuring that schools are safe, clean, and conducive to learning in time for the opening of classes.
