On August 26, 2026, DTI Bataan, in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Mariveles, conducted a Seminar on Weights and Measures and Consumer Awareness and Responsiveness at the Tri-Den Restaurant in Mariveles, Bataan. The capacity-building session was designed to train public market employees on the critical importance of utilizing accurate, properly calibrated weighing and measuring devices in commercial transactions.

The program also covered legal compliance frameworks, outlining relevant regulations and penalties associated with inaccurate instruments. Additionally, participants engaged in discussions on consumer rights and responsibilities, reinforcing collaborative efforts between DTI Bataan and local authorities to maintain a fair, transparent, and consumer-friendly marketplace for all Bataeños.

DTI Day Highlights Global Opportunities for Bulacan MSMEs at BUFFEX 2026

On September 1, 2026, DTI Bulacan hosted DTI Day @ BUFFEX under the theme “Flavors Without Borders, Empowering Local MSMEs” during the Bulacan Food Fair and Exposition (BUFFEX) at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center. Running through September 4, the annual exposition highlights regional food products and specialties from DTI-assisted enterprises, including beneficiaries of the OTOP Philippines and Shared Service Facilities (SSF) programs.

The event featured a specialized export seminar conducted by the Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) to guide local entrepreneurs on international market access and global trade frameworks. By connecting MSMEs with vital institutional resources and partnership networks, DTI Bulacan aims to scale up provincial food enterprises and transition proudly Bulacan-made products from domestic shelves to international markets.

With continuous guidance from DTI Nueva Ecija and the local Negosyo Center team at SM City Cabanatuan, Erlinda upgraded her product packaging, joined regional trade fairs, and expanded her online orders. On September 2, 2026, DTI monitoring teams conducted Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPC) price checks and distributed official Price Freeze documents in Olongapo City, which is currently under a State of Calamity. Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7581 (Price Act), an automatic 60-day price freeze is in effect, keeping all basic commodities securely capped at pre-calamity prevailing rates.

Field inspections confirmed that local inventories are stable and sufficient to last three to four weeks, with all monitored retail prices complying strictly with DTI's Suggested Retail Price (SRP) guidelines. With main roads fully passable and public markets operating normally, commercial activities continue smoothly with zero reports of hoarding, panic buying, or profiteering.
