The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) participated in the Strategic Meeting for the Construction Sector conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office I (DOLE RO1) on June 1, 2026, in the City of San Fernando, La Union, as part of the High Impact High Visibility Inspection (HIHVI) Program.

As a key partner agency in promoting workers’ welfare, ECC highlighted the importance of occupational safety and health (OSH) compliance in preventing work-related injuries, illnesses, disabilities, and deaths, particularly in the high-risk construction industry.

The Commission emphasized that effective labor inspections and stronger inter-agency collaboration are crucial in ensuring safer workplaces and protecting workers through the Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP). By participating in initiatives such as the HIHVI Program, ECC supports the government's efforts to strengthen workplace safety, promote compliance with labor standards, and enhance social protection for Filipino workers.

Through its continued partnership with DOLE and other stakeholders, ECC remains committed to advancing a culture of prevention and ensuring that workers are protected both before and after workplace accidents and occupational diseases occur.

ECKnows | Ang essential hypertension ay kasama sa listahan ng mga sakit na compensable sa ilalim ng Employees’ Compensation (EC) Program. Maaaring maging eligible sa EC benefits ang isang manggagawa kung ang kondisyon ay nagdulot ng impairment sa mga body organs tulad ng kidneys, mata, utak, o iba pang mahahalagang bahagi ng katawan na nagresulta sa anumang uri ng disability, at kung natutugunan ang mga itinakdang kondisyon para sa compensability ng sakit.

Tandaan na tanging mga work-related lamang na pagkakasakit o aksidente ang covered at compensable sa ilalim ng EC Program.

As part of the nationwide Labor Day Celebration, the Employees’ Compensation Commission – Regional Extension Unit I (ECC-REU I) conducted a series of Employees’ Compensation Program (ECP) Orientations for Kasambahays and Workers in the Informal Sector in various areas across Region I, including one of its stops in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The activity aimed to strengthen awareness among kasambahays and workers in the informal sector regarding the benefits and services provided under the Employees’ Compensation Program, particularly for workers who may suffer from work-related sickness, injury, disability, or death. Participants were oriented on the different EC benefits, qualification requirements, and procedures on how to avail of the assistance and services under the program.

The orientation also highlighted the importance of social protection and inclusive workers’ welfare programs, especially for vulnerable sectors of labor. Through the conduct of the series of orientations, ECC-REU I reaffirmed its commitment to bringing government programs closer to workers and ensuring that more Filipinos are informed of their rights and benefits under the Employees’ Compensation Program.
