Councilor Kyle Marie Eufrosito Y. Nisce raised the recurring flooding and road safety issue at Sevilla Elementary School in Barangay Sevilla, emphasizing the danger it poses to students, teachers, parents, and commuters. He recalled that the matter had already been formally raised on June 16, 2026, through Manifestation Tracking No. SP02426, and noted that funding for the construction of the schoolโs drainage system and access road had already been allocated in the 2026 city budget. He questioned the delay in implementation and called on the City Engineering Office to provide a transparent status report, including the reason for the delay, the status of the allocated funds, and a definite timeline for construction. He also urged the inclusion of the City Engineering Office, DPWH, CENRO, CDRRMO, and concerned barangays in reviewing and strengthening the Cityโs Drainage Master Plan. Finally, he called for a committee hearing with the concerned offices and barangays to develop immediate and comprehensive solutions to the flooding problem, stressing that the residents of Barangay Sevilla have waited long enough for action.
